burgessfourParticipantI’ve been on and off the internet all day looking for sixers rumors. Based on what I’ve seen (or haven’t seen), if Hinkie has something going, no one knows about it.
I guess with the way they’ve been “performing” keeping Thad, Spencer and Evan won’t hurt this years
share of ping pong balls. But he has to do something……….DOESN’T HE ?

Kleb2424ParticipantI believe they will lose Turner and Hawes next year anyway. Might as well get something for them. I do like Turner and if they could keep him I’m good with that, but Hawes will be playing elsewhere for sure.

runBruceParticipantYou would think that they have to do something…..I’m actually starting to get nervous that they are simply asking too much in return for these guys. Spencer and Evan walk next year, so I don’t know what the purpose would be in keeping them now, unless they intend to re-sign these two guys. I heard the aguement made that they didn’t want to trade Evan unless they got a top 15 pick in return but when he walks in a couple of months you get nothing, so I don’t really understand that logic unless they plan to re-sign him.

burgessfourParticipantHopefully (and I’ve read this is what goes on) there’s a lot of posturing and the offers don’t get real until the last day. I like Turner too but it sure sounds like he doesn’t fit in their plans. Unless they offer them both a lot of $ both Turner and Hawes will not be back next year. So if they don’t fit in the plans they need to be moved unless the offers are just too insulting. I’m sure GM’s egos sometimes get in the way.

SpartanGloryParticipantSomeone is going to get desparate for a difference maker tomorrow and throw us a good deal for Turner, Hawes, or Young, or a combination of them. There’s a few teams out west that went to have the edge going into the home stretch of this season, and those guys could provide it. Hinkie is doing a great job as GM IMO. He’s not giving in to some low ball offer and holding his cards close to his chest. More than I can say for some GMs….Cough*JOE DUMARS* cough cough….
