JunkYardDogParticipantkyle singler is going to sign with real madrid for the remainder of the season to replace rudy fernandez… so rudy seems to come back to dallas. Singler played very well in spain and is going to keep him out of this crazy soon to be season.
Smart choice… I think he could keep on developping his game and stay in the light of euroligue battles.

mikeyvthedonParticipantSingler was the 33rd overall pick this past draft. He may be "destined to play overseas", but I think he will eventually play in the NBA. He is better built to play internationally, but I could see him being a nice role player off the bench for some team. Do not know why the negativity regarding Singler, Scarecrow. I guess I have been a fan of Singler since his HS days and think he is a pretty solid baller. I dislike Duke and was not overly happy he went there, but he had a solid career and he killed Gordon Hayward in the 2010 Tournament win.
He is a talented player, he plays hard and while he is not overly athletic, I do not at all think he is as bad as you think. Maybe it was just the "scrub" remark, as I have taken a slight disliking to people using that to describe NBA players or pro players in general. I think Singler spends time in Europe and than goes to the NBA in the next year or so.

tli232Singler playing overseas may actually be better for him in the long run.
I’m saying this because if Singler wants a long career in the NBA, he’d best be great at one or two aspects of the game. From what I’ve seen of him the last few years, he doens’t have athleticism to be an "all around contributor" in the NBA.
Overseas, I can see Singler developing his hustle and physicality while playing the role of a stretch 4 and part- time 3 because the Euro game is more physical and bigger guys need to space the floor due to the shorter 3 pt line and lane congestion.
His calling card in the NBA probably won’t be his offense, but he can definitely fill the role of the guy who’s physical and can frustrate opposing 4s while spacing the floor on offense coming of the bench.
Europe is the perfect place to develop into that kind of player. In a year or 2 overseas, I can see Singler becoming a slimer, quicker version of Jorge Garbajosa.
