Would Philly take Lakers #2 pick (Ingram) and a removal of protection on Lakers 2017 pick (top 3 protected currently) for #1 pick (Simmons)?  Too little?  What would it take?

It’s not happening. But I would assume if Philly was going to play ball, they’d want to swap picks, get that 2017 pick unprotected and maybe either a prospect (Nance, Randle, etc.) or another future pick.

I’m higher on Ingram so I would do it in a heartbeat. Throw in the 32nd pick and I’m sold.  I’m sure I’ll be proven wrong in the next  couple years though.

I don’t see the Sixers doing this unless someone like Russell is added to the deal.

You mean would we take nothing for him?

Removal of protections doesn’t mean anything if the Lakers finish with the 4th pick next year. I wouldn’t do it for Russell, and the removal of the protections either.

The Sixers tanked for 3 years to get an opportunity to get someone like Simmons(and Embiid), and there is no reason to suddenly trade out of that spot.

We have plenty of assets to try to shape the roster over the coming years, but superstars are a singular and necessary component of building a contender.

The Sixers are about to have 2 franchise level talents in Simmons and Embiid, and we will build around them, and hope for the best with Embiid’s health.

Would the Lakers do this?  Doubtful.  If anyone is claiming that Simmons will absolutely be a better player than Ingram they are wrong.

For a man his size that is Atrocious……………….  For Context, Tyler Ulis at 5’10” shot 58% FG% at the Rim…………

Ingram is a Nice player……….. but he is Not a Great athlete…………That % is against College kids………… Ingram lacks an Elite 1st step & he struggles w/ balance in Traffic………….

This "Debate" over who should be #1 is 100% Media Invented………. But w/ the way Bryan Colangelo has Butchered his Leverage w/ a possible Okafor / Noel trade I would Not trust this guy to do Anything………
