Hi guys, Giannis this season and especially of late has shown Magic Johnson like potential. Like Ben, Giannis also doesn’t have much of a jumpshot, how do you think he compares? Another player that Ben is like is Grant Hill, he could get to the hole whenever he wanted but couldn’t shoot much, was a point forward and averaged 20 per game as a rookie. Seeing Giannis be successful at the point gives me hope for Ben. What are your thoughts? I think Ben fits best with the Celtics or the Suns. I can see him putting up 15-16ppg 7-8rpg and 5-6apg as a rookie.

Back to Giannis and the Bucks, he is a freak and the Bucks are fun to watch. Their big 3 potential with Kris and Jabari is exciting. Jabari is very explosive and powerful, it should be a very interesting future ffor them. Who should they draft? I think Giannis should stay at the Point, would be good if they could somehow Draft Jamal Murray, he could be a rich man’s OJ Mayo!

    Peace =)

I love the Bucks and what they been doing lately in particular. While I agree Murray would be a nice fit he will be long gone by the time the Bucks pick at 10-14 range.
I think the Bucks take Hield if he is there as a guy who can just be a pure knock-down shooter next to Giannis in the back-court.

I think think honestly though that the Bucks should take a risk and go with Skal, now I know he hasn’t been fantastic and is weak, more a 4 than a 5, but if he can shoot. I have no doubt he could be a stretch big man that would fit nicely to space the floor along with Middleton and Mayo/Bayless (whoever they decide to start). The Bucks need outside shooting and the way the roster is built it’ll need to come from the 5-spot unless Giannis or Parker make huge strides (I can see Parker becoming an OK 3 point shooter). Defensively he could be a liability and that may be the reason they don’t want him, but I think it is worth a look. A guy like KAT, Porzingis, Turner or Jokic would have been an ideal C for this Bucks team.

     Valentine

With Giannis coming on as a pt forward I would love to see Denzel Valentine alongside him. Great ball mover and guy who knows his role. I think the mini Draymond comparison is fair and would fit as another playmaker who can shoot it. With the range the Bucks will be in (10-12) I actually think that’s good value for him. Maybe he’s not as high ceiling as a lot of other guys but the fit is perfect and worst case he’s a hard enough worker to become elite 3pt shooter like Danny green (not including this year of course). Going forwars with Jabari developing into a stretch athletic 4 and flipping Henson or Monroe for an elite defensive 5 they could be title contenders in 2-3 years

    Giannis-Bayless

    Murray-Valentine

    Middleton-Inglis

Love the idea of Buddy or Valentine, with their pick being late lotto, Valentine is most realistic.

Any thoughts on Simmons vs Giannis?

Similar styles. Simmons probably has better ball handling, passing and PG instincts already. Freak has size, quickness and defensive edge.

I’m keen to see Simmons play all 5 positions.

The Greek Freek’s numbers lately have been eye popping. I’m starting to think his basketball IQ is higher than what I thought it was and it was always pretty good.. But then again, he hasn’t been playing the game but so long so he’s still learning and getting smarter.

Jabari’s talent is what it always been which is elite even though some people started going overboard about how mediocre he was while he was injured or not putting up big numbers. To me if I see talent I just call it for what it was even if they don’t produce right away. I don’t agree with the he’s a small ball 4 or stretch 4 or any of that because he’s not at all. He’s a small forward who in 2016 can play some pf, but he’s a pure 3.

The thing that gets me is people keep saying how they need to get shooters when Middleton is already a pretty good shooter and Jabari people forget, has a beautiful stroke. I just feel like they need to keep doing what they did the latter part of this year and let them grow. Jabari is a pure shooter. Whether they are all going in now or not, just think real basketball and look at his stroke. Jordan never won a title until Pippen and Horace Grant developed and Shaq never won into Kobe learned to be the Kobe that we all know. Just look at his shooting percentages when he was young. They get better.

I don’t believe that you understood what he was getting at. Yes, Jabari Parker does not have the sample size to say he is a good shooter. He’s getting at that he have a good shooting stroke that it can improve given time. I tend to agree with him at that point. If you watch games he could knock down to mid range jumper that’s just inside the three point line easily. Giannis has also shown that he’s able to knock down that long two.

Also, he never said they are pure shooters, he said Jabari had a pure SHOOTING STROKE, as in the way he shoots the basketball.

The Bucks need a shooter in the draft so all the names mentioned are fair choices.

As a Suns fan I’d love to get Simmons but Boston would also be a good fit as they have a lot of shooters on the team and could spread the play.

Simmons will fit onto most rosters even if they have a pass first PG as he’d help spread the play and two creative players can move the ball extra quickly almost D’Antoni 8 second offence.

THe Greek Freak looks to have a good basketball IQ and Kidd wouldn’t let him run the point if that wasn’t the case. Simmons also looks to have a very good developing basketball IQ and I would not like to favour cone over the other at this moment. Simmons may be a better scorer but Giannis maybe has better defence and intangibles.

What about a sign and trade of monroe for hassan whiteside? The heat get a quality bigman to replace whiteside and the bucks get a relatively young rim protector, maybe other things involved but that would be the framework

Domantas Sabonis might be my pick for the Bucks.  He is a big who can SHOOT.  Give the Young Bucks some spacing.

Now, they have a second rounder at 36 and this site projects them taking Tyler Ulis.  Don’t think he will be there — but, if he is, this team could be unguardable with some of the weapons they have and if they get the pick right at 10 — Sabonis would be one of my choices, with another being Denzel Valentine.  I agree with the poster on this board.

HOWEVER, Valentine might be a guy who NEEDS the ball in his hands.  Well, IF that is what Giannis is, a ball dominate, versatile Point Forward then getting Valentine might be overkill.  Especially if MCW is their backup point or if they start him.

I am seeing that the Nuggets have LOTS of picks.  8, 15, 18, and 23.  I think 23 is the one that stays with the Grizzlies if the Grizzlies make the playoffs.  No way the Nuggets trade their pick at 8.  I would try to trade them the 10th pick for 15 and 18.

They could also do 10 and 36 for 15, 18, and a future second rounder.

I can see the Bucks liking 5 or 6 guys at 10 but not really loving anyone.  So, don’t you trade down?  Get AT LEAST one of the guys you like, and POSSIBLY TWO guys you really like…

If Ulis isn’t there at 36, then maybe the pick is expendable.  OR, if you want to keep the 36th pick no matter what then I think 10, a future second rounder, and cash will be enough to get 15 and 18.  If not, then I think MCW could be a interesting fourth guard for Denver behind the young trio of Mudiay, Will Barton, and Gary Harris.

Maybe you don’t like Valentine or Skal or Sabonis at 10 — but at 15 I think either of those 3 guys is a GREAT value.  Who knows, you could get TWO of those three guys at 15 to 18.  Depending on who rises, who falls, and who declares for the draft.  OR, Ulis shoots up the draft boards, and you get him at 18.  You get a couple of Wildcats with Skal at 15 and Ulis at 18.  That gives you some speed to go along with the Gianis-Jabari-Kris Middleton core…
