Arc12345ParticipantI didn’t really look at much under the Top 30, but to have Jrue above Derozan is bold. I also think Gobert at 14 is absolutely ridiculous.
There will always be coin flip placements you can argue, but those really stuck out to me.

BeastMode716ParticipantThere are so points of Debate & that is what is fun about these lists but I did not feel there were any outrageous stretches
For example, Gobert might seem a little high on the list but consider that Utah was basically a Lottery team until he returned from injury & then the Jazz just exploded —- it reminded me a lot of Phila’s stats w/ Embiid & in the line they projected the stats of a 67 win team & w/o they would be a Lottery team – I realize Gobert has no where near Embiid Offensive ability but both men utterly Dominate the game at the Def end.
I agree DeRozan was too low, some guys are a little too high – but again really no click bait – for example, no Rookies projected on to the list & I appreciate that — for example ESPN put out their 51 – 100 slots yesterday & I thought some were utterly ridiculous & we have not even seen the Top 50 yet.
What I though was really interesteing about the SI top 100 was checking out the guys in the Top 30 who are 26 or Under b/c these are the Super Stars of the NBA 3 – 5 years from now: Bradley Beal, Ben Simmons, Victor Oladipo, Karl Anthony Towns, Nicoli Jokiic, Kyrie Irving, Rudy Gobert, Joel Embiid, Greek Freak & Unibrow Davis
In other words the NBA is in Great hands!

llperezsome thoughts:
if kawhi is back near 100%, im taking him over paul george and jimmy butler all day every day.
i feel like kyle kuzma should be on here, he was better then both lonzo ball and brook lopez last year and they both made the list.
i feel like whoever wrote this overrated jazz players in general. gobert at 14, favors at 51, ingles at 56 all seem too high.
blake griffin at 41 is too low.
kris middelton at 28 too high.

BKGingerSnapParticipantI would have Mitchell much lower (better) on this list. I think the list is very good. Overall great rankings but I would be shocked if Mitchell doesn’t take a major step next season. Is there any chance at all Mitchell won’t outplay Kemba Walker or Jrue holiday next season? Kyle Lowry is ranked to generously. I know the raptors are really good in the regular season but the raptors, and Kyle Lowry especially, never scare me.

The GoatParticipantThere’s a few on there that don’t sit right and interestingly a few that are ranked considerably differently to the ESPN site, eg. SI had Wall at 24 and Booker around 50, while the ESPN one had Booker above Wall.
Chris Paul is far too high at 8. I actually think Middleton is about right at 28. Embiid and Giannis are 1-2 in the East for mine, but Kawhi is right there and should be top 10. I can’t see how you drop Boogie to the 60s due to injury but still leave Millsap in the 30s. Bledsoe 30 spots above Rozier? Gobert slightly high and whoever put Bazemore on the list altogether was definitely high.

Sewok15ParticipantAs someone who watched almost every Sixers game the last 4 years I can officially say Robert Covington has become overrated. He plays good defense but outside hoisting up threes he has no other offensive game at all. I would definitely rather have Devin Booker.

llperezalso, while i do like eric gordon a lot and realize he is a terrific role player for the rockets, how are you gonna have him ahead of devin booker? and robert covington ahead of booker too? I realize the suns suck, but he does everything he can for that team.

OhCanada-ParticipantCant take these lists seriously. They always disrespect Derozan for whatever reason, last year they had Wiggins ranked higher then Demar. They usually base it on advanced stats and lack of three point shooting but he fixed that and still doesnt get top 20. He should be ranked anywhere from 10-20 with Butler, George and Klay. Derozan eliminated Beal last year yet Beal is higher. Haywards best season 16-17 wasnt as productive as Derozan’s last year and didnt lead to as much team success yet coming back from a gruesome injury he is ranked higher? How?

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantI know you can probably find some advanced metrics that will tell you that otto porter somehow contributes more to winning than DeRozan. But as someone who actually watches the games I just find it hard to believe that’s true. If you replaced DeRozan with porter on the raptors last season, there is absolutely no way that team comes close to winning 59 games.
