I personally think the Wolves should move back and seek Bam Adebayo or another underestimated SF/PF player, I think that they also have Rubio as a trade option or even Dunn were they can pick up someone like Hood. Tell me what you think.

But if they Luv Dunn as their PG of the future I would put together a package of Lavine & Wiggins & a pick swap in a trade w/ Chicago for Jimmy Butler.

Draft Markkanen & put him at stretch 4, w/ Butler as the Sg/Wing; Dunn as the PG & KAT as the Center

Minnesota has so much young talent but the pieces don’t all fit properly or at least from the outside looking in it seems that way.

They have too many players who can score & they all want the ball & they just don’t have continuity at either end b/c of it.

I Luv what Memphis does w/ Conley & Gasol & Minnesota is fortunate enough to have one of the very few Great young NBA Centers in the game. If they could land Butler he & KAT could run the 1, 2 PnR punch on Offense & have Dunn still bring the ball up & facilitate but have Dunn lock down the opposing pg. Space Markkanen on the 3point line & let the iffense flow thru KAT & Butler

Being a Minnesota fan, trading away LaVine and Wiggins and a pick swap for Butler would be the worst trade they’ve made since they dealt Ray Allen away on draft night.  Jimmy is a great player, but he’s not gonna make the Wolves win over night.  I wouldn’t mind dealing away just Wiggins for something, but LaVine is too valuable and can do more overall than Wiggins right now and I believe he will be the better player in the future as well.  But dealing both away is just too stupid and too early.

If the plan is to get Markannen, then no trade and hope he falls to them seems feasible.

They are eyeing a high enough lottery pick to hope landing a promising stretch 4, maybe even Isaac.

      Why trade their other guys?

I don’t think Dunn is a starter, neither short nor long term, but he fits their identity. Trading Rubio and whoever to get some better backup guys on the wing than Muhammad, signing a good FA like Jrue at PG and drafting Isaac to push Dieng on the bench seems a better plan than tearing your team apart for a 27 y.o. guy  unable to win .500 game with a "win now" team in Chicago. Butler will be 30 before KAT enters his prime and start contending. Better stick with LaVine/Wiggins imo.

Bulls receive: Ricky Rubio,Zach Lavine,Jordan Hill and a future First(top 5 protected) I would try keep the T-wolves 2017 pick out of any trade.

    T-wolves receive:Jimmy B and Rajon Rondo

    Reason both teams do this:

T-wolves do this to get Jimmy and get their stop gap vet PG in Rondo who can either be waived with a small cap hit next offseason or kept until they think Dunn is ready. It also doesn’t hurt that both have played for Thibs before.

The Bulls do this to hit partial reset and move Rondo: They get Lavine who can replace wade when they move him also for younger assets. They give up Rubio who may have privately asked for a trade or doesn’t seem to fit the T-wolves longterm plans(hence the Reggie J trade rumors)..

I would certainly hope that Thibs would hold onto this year’s pick at least until he knows where it is going to fall, trading away a potential shot at Fultz, Jackson, Ball and co would be a huge risk to take. The masterstroke would be he traded what may now look like a top 8 pick and possible lottery and then the T-Wolves went on a run and say snared 8th seed out West and he had got talent from a team hoping for a top 10 pick minimum but it ends up at about 15th.

It’s January…..we don’t even know what pick the Wolves are going to land yet….how can you suggest they shop their pick and move back?
