now i know yao ming is a 20 10 player, and an franchise center. but for the last couple seasons hes been getting hurt. plus hes getting older. now im not saying he cant still be that franchise center if healthy. but since he can not, along with tmac who we already know is on his downside . should the rockets consider atleast look into just trading yao and see if they can get some good value out of him.
and besides this team has some good young players to build with. like aaron brooks, lowry at the one.
then you have ariza a good defender, along with battier coming off the bench. landy is a decent power forward. jermaine taylor is gonna be real good down the road, chase is showing people he wont be a bust. the new center they acquire andersen is gonna suprise alot of people next year. they have one of the best underrated coaches in rick. they have a good gm. i think if they can trade yao and get some good players plus picks they would bet set. and get rid of tmac as well.

as for starting over, I think the answer is both yes and no. They have some solid pieces in Brooks, Battier, Hayes, Scola, Landry and Ariza. I don’t think you give away any of those guys. They proved in the playoffs that tough D and intelligent offense can keep you competitive even when out manned. But I would’nt sit around and wait for Yao or McGrady to ever put them on their backs again. When TMac comes off the books at the end of this next year, they will have money to spend on free agents. So I say they should be patient with what they have right now and see what is available next summer and how far along Yao is progressing.

any way they trade Yao this year without him being healthy again. Who would take that risk on him at this point? He has a big contract and has been injured numerous times. By keeping him, Houston is getting a cap exception of like 6 million since he is not expected to play this year. He is’nt going anywhere anytime soon.

Yao Is is not getting traded….his value is worth Stephon marburys Value, Which is nothing…..the guy could be back, so don’t be pessimistic, it ain’t his fault his knee could handle it……Trade him?? woow

wasn’t it his toe? anyways, he isn’t going to get traded this year if he gets traded. Once T-Mac is gone, they’ll have money to spend on more good pieces to build around.

Its a hard situation for houston. Tracy will always be one of my favorite players but i think they should atleast try and get some value for him before they let him go next summer, 23mil not very easy to move though, even if it is expiring. I really hope Yao can make any kind of recovery, for his career to end like this would be pretty awful. Otherwise they have a ton of young talent, brooks man, straight baller. they should try and land a young scoring wing and frontcourt depth.

Wow you guys are brutal to Yao Ming. His value is the same as Stephon Marburys? Give me a break. Even if he misses a season he still comes back into the league as a top 5 center. He proved all of the doubters wrong by playing 70 games this season and i don’t think we’ve seen or heard the last of him like jamall tinsley.
