I’m a Celtics fan and so far I’ve been pretty board with basketball. The league hasn’t been anymore predictable than it is now. I feel legitimately there are 3 championship caliber teams in Cleveland, Golden State and LA Clippers. Do you think that the NBA should start contraction. Take away some teams so there’s more talented teams. Also can we do a little game on here to see if we take away teams with stars and add them to other franchises how many competitive teams can we churn out. To be fair it will be a 23 team league which was the number of NBA teams in 1985 when I thought looking through the history that that era was the most competitive. These last couple of years I pretty much watch marquee matchups and then I watch the playoffs. Lastly I was never a fan of Al Horford I thought he was never a game changer and that the celtics should’ve paid Dwight Howard 1 year 25 million or something. Do you think Danny Ainge needed to spend cap money after 2 years of having a ton of cap space and not signing anyone of value. The year before he made a 1 year deal signing for example Amir Johnson so he could have cap flexibility. Or was it a desperation move to see if he signed Al that Kevin Durant would follow? Either way the Horford contract is awful! I want competitive basketball again!

The CBA should enforce a rule where a free agent who is an all-star the prior year cant sign with a team with 2 or more all-stars.. Majority of the olympic players are all-stars, this will cut out all the tampering players do amongst each other during the offseason and olympic runs..

Al Horford isn’t a superstar go to scorer that the Celtics need but he brings a ton to this Celtics team and signing him was a no brainer in my opinion.  He’s the perfect fit for what Brad Stevens wants in a big man.   He’s averaging 15pts/6rebs/5asts/2blks and is a versatile player for the Celtics on both ends of the court.  However, I would like to see him be more aggressive looking for his own offense and being more physical on the defensive glass.  The idea is that Danny Ainge would like to obtain a 3rd star either through free agency or trade to pair with IT and Horford.  That would make Horford a solid 3rd option behind IT and the other star.

Yes the Celtics aren’t performing as well as they should but don’t forget about the injuries to key players.  9 games for Horford(concussion), 8 games for Jae Crowder(sprained ankle), 3 games for IT(strained groin), 6 games for Kelly Olynyk(shoulder surgery), and 3 games for Marcus Smart(sprained ankle).  The team has only been fully healthy for a handful of games.  They aren’t going to be a contender for a championship but they should be one of the better teams in the East.

I understand the predictable theory but I think it depends on perspective The last time the league had a team with 3peat has been when? Lakers 2000-2002 I mean 14 years with no 3peat Before that we had Lakers & Pulls 3peats,we had Houston & Detroit doing to repeats and we had before the Celtics-Lakers era. So I really don’t think the league has been that predictable,we had 5 different title winners in the last 6 years, that has only happened twice since 1980. One more thing, The league always had sort of super teams and tbh I believe the league need that super team that people either get excited about or hate. Overall I don’t see a big deal about it,the NBA is making huge money and it is their golden years financially.they won’t go for contraction when they are making such amount of money. With the league seems hesitant about expanding I think they will stay content for 30 teams for very long time.

Maybe I’m overreacting with Horford it’s just for the money they paid him and on the wrong side of 30 logically it didn’t make sense. Could you have gotten the same production from a lesser name PF? I mean I still think the C’s are going in the right direction, but I’m ready to cash in on are tradable pieces for an Anthony Davis or DeMac…I do think however lesser team league would make the regular season more intriguing. I could name stranded superstars to pair together and make a good competitive team. Minimum 2 legit players on each team. Example John Wall and Demarcus Cousins on Lakers. Anthony Davis and Damian Lillard in let’s say New York etc. I also like Big Market franchise the LAs the NYs the Bostons, Philly, Detroit, Chicago, Miami and even Dallas. Do away with teams like Sacremento and also don’t have 3 teams in one state like Houston, Dallas and San Antonio. So I think the league doesn’t have enough competitive balance and the product is poor. All the comments are really good by the way it’s always good to here varying opinions.

If you want to more parity in the league, I think the solution is expansion not contraction.

First step: Give Seattle their team back and move Memphis to the Eastern Conference.
