Some context, I feel like the Bulls going to do some massive reorg with the latest Rose injury.  This Bulls team as we know it will not be the same anymore.  So this got me thinking that this lineup had its last serious run at title was last year.  Remember how Bulls were contesting the heavily favored Heat down to the wire, had Rose returned at that time? do you think Bulls would’ve gotten thru the Heat?

What im saying is, was that the last legit chance for Rose/Deng/Noah/Booz to truly contend?

Even had D. Rose came back, they still weren’t going to beat the Heat.

The D. Rose we’re seeing right now (rusty, no timing, etc, etc) would’ve been the same D. Rose we’d have seen vs the Heat… He’d have been way less confident too.

He definitely should not have came back in the playoffs. Look how shaky and rusty he was to start THIS season after having a couple more months to regain form. Going up against the defending champions would have been an absolute disaster. Rose is only going to be out for about 2 months by the way so hopefully he will be good to go by the time the playoffs start because that is all that matters.

No reason to double guess that now that he got hurt again..

I am a Bulls fan, and a Rose fan, but the guy is just injury-prown. And This injury has nothing to do with the one last year, it could have happened last year or this year again had he came back we really have no way of knowing.

I really hope Derrick Rose can recover from this injury… He is one of the best players in the league and brings heart, hustle and determination to the court every single game!

He was cleared to play before the playoffs started. Of course he should have been out there!

I never will question his ability to play. He is a incredible player.

    I question his heart.

I hope he comes back from this last injury and proves me wrong.

eh….the thing is…its HIS knee.  we just dont know how his knee felt to HIM.  dont see how you can question heart if you dont know exactly how he felt physically.

Being "cleared" to play when it comes to an ACL tear just means that the ligament has fused to the bone enough and the quads were strong enough to protect the ligament.

However, it doesn’t mean that you don’t experience discomfort or just that funny feeling (something you only know if you’ve torn your ACL). It doesn’t mean that there’s no pain. It doesn’t mean that you’re reaction speed/quickness has returned. It doesn’t mean that your muscle memory has returned.

What people don’t realize is that an ACL tear is a two year recovery. That means that the inside of your knee takes two fulls years before it’s normal. Everyone is different and heals differently. That’s why the recovery time frame *to return to a sport* is 9-12 months.
