As i was watching the Lakers and Cavs last night, in a game that clearly showed why the Lakers are not as good as they were last year, i began to look at the softness of Andrew Bynum. Then this made me realize that he is a product of a lack of fundamentals and toughness which he could have learned more of if he had went to play college basketball. He is not the only one that has came to the NBA with a raw game that needs serious developement. Although Andrew Bynum is very young he still has time in his career to get better and do better. Yet here is my list of my “ALL SHOULD HAVE WENT TO COLLEGE TEAM.

I agree for the most part, but why Lou Williams?

Also, going to college for four years wouldn’t have kept Shaun Livingston from falling and breaking his leg.

If you remember Lou Williams from his 1st few years in Philly, he was chained to the bench. He was going to attend UGA with HS teammate Mike Mercer (that would’ve been a crazy backcourt) but he was a bench rider for his first 2 or 3 seasons so he could’ve used the college experience. He would probably be a better defender than he is now haha.

hear me out…Dwight Howard could have really benefited from a year in school too. He is pretty dominant but he doesn’t necessarily have the best post moves. He didn’t really get huge until he was in the NBA so I wonder if he could have developed a little more offense, worked on his offensive footwork. Remember when Shaq came out he wasn’t just dunking, he’s always had a back to the hoop game (even now when he would make the all awkward team.)
Everyone around him will say Howard is nowhere near his potential, maybe only half way there even, so I just wonder where he would be…

9 of the 10 guys you named are in the nba. There are numerous players who skipped college and didn’t even stick in the nba. i think those guys should be the top players who should have gone to college

i dont think bynum should have went to college. how can someone considered one of the best centers in the nba at the age of 23 be told he should have went to college?…so what happens if he goes and gets injured? the all college teams should be the ones who ended up flunking out of the nba.

you go to college and run the risk of getting exposed, injuried. and whos to say these guys wouldnt be the same player?..go to college not learn much because they are physically better then who they are playing against. or play bad and end up losing money. felipe lopez would have made more,vincint yarbourouh was considered a lotto/first rounder if he would have came out of hs. yeah you could go and get better but you ould also end up not making it. would you really chance that if you are already in the nba?..to go back in time and try youre hand in college and if it doesnt pan ou end up in the d-leauge?

yeah, say what you want about kwame or curry, but dudes got straight up paid and have made between 40-60 million dollaars already each. I seriously doubt they are regretting their decision. And what’s up with including bynum just because you saw somehitng last night. Dude has been getting it done and is putting up like 16 and 9 on the season at the age of 22 i believe. I’m sure he doesn’t belong on this list.

Amir has had a great career in the NBA… He was drafted out of high school to the Pistons… where he learned how to play the post from Great veterans like Rasheed Wallace and Antonio McDyess… Now with the Raptors he is getting quite a great opportunity playing behind Bosh and bringing ENERGY and ATTITUDE to every game…

Most importantly he is 22 and has played 5 years in the NBA, meaning he will become a seasoned veteran by his late 20’s… Giving him that much of an edge on younger players… Im not claiming he will become a franchise player, but he will become a key part to any team soon… Hopefully the Raptors can retain him after this year!

You run the risk of getting exposed? I’d rather be exposed during my first year of college than be drafted and labeled a bust. If I was exposed, it would just mean that I’d have to stay in school for an extra year or two to work on my game.

Amir Johnson hasn’t had a great NBA career Killercat. He’s been traded alot for someone his age and (seemingly) upside. That shows you something right there…He’s a perfect example of a player that should’ve taken the college route to work on his game. I don’t think anyone would consider him being a hustle player “great”, because he was a very highly touted recruit in his HS days and was supposed to be a starter on someones team at least.

I also think that Bynum should be left off the list. You could list alot of HS-to-pro’s weaknesses, but that doesn’t mean they should’ve went to college necessarily..

If you go to college you will get exposed of any weakness you have. If Kwame would have gone to college he would have struggled a lot and would have dropped like a lead ballon and may have fell out of the first round. College would have helped Kwame but he still would have sucked. Instead he got his money and a lot of it instead of getting a little contrat.

so you rather go to college and get exposed and end up not getting drafted after 4 years then go to the nba and make millions even if you get labeled a bust???…lol..riiiiiiight. you think kwame cares that hes labeled a bust when he ontinues to get paid and stik to teams? makes no sense. and bynums role is to help the team win and be a THIRD option on some nights. he’s done exactly that. we have a solid number and a solid number 2 and odom who is sometimes number 3. just because hes not what you may want him to be doesnt mean he should go to college. and yeah howard going to college makes sense since hes only the best center in the nba. man some of ya’ll look at this the wrong way. just because a player isnt where you want them to be then they should have went to college. its not a given that they would have gotten better or learned more so if its not a given why would you give up something thats for certain like millions and the dream of being in the nba for something that is a maybe and could end up costing you a dream to the nba??..yeah you could still make it but now theres a possibility that you also dont make it. yeah that makes awhole lot of sense. thats like me dating beyonnce and she talks about leaving me beause i didnt go to college so i decide to go back in time go to college and then holla at her when theres a chance she might turn me down this time.

Ok we know that business aspect of things…we are talking bout how better his game would have been…this is a new era you can suck and get paid jus off your potential..its painfully obvious that the game will never be the same, but now the NBA is making these kids earn there paychecks by going to school for a year then coming into the NBA.
