Every year someone sneaks up and is drafted higher than anyone expected.  Last year, Aaron Gordon was a mild surprise being taken at #4.

Who is your prediction of a shocker draft pick this year?

    Here is mine…

Tyus Jones will be drafted by the Pacers at #11.

The Pistons seem to be enamored with Sam Dekker, so my shocker of the draft is that Dekker gets picked at 8.

I think this could happen, but as a Pistons fan I hope it doesn’t.    I would much rather the Pistons be the beneficiary of a Justice Winslow drop.

Do you have any links for Detroit’s interest in Dekker? I’d always heard they were more interested in Johnson.

I’ll go with Mudiay falling in the draft.

I have him at #6 to Sactown.  I would be shocked if he fell further down.

I see Sac has offered their 6th pick straight up for Lawson. If Mudiay was to fall, would they offer him? Will Denver take it now?

I think the rumor was that Denver offered Lawson for the 6th and the Kings turned them down.

     WCS At 3
    because
    1. He has injure history (foot) and he might get injury on this season

    2. He is Big

The criteria is perfect for 76ers

all of this is the reason to tank this year

    ^^

Not sure if this is enough of a shocker, but it feels like it is with the recent reports.

I think Philly takes Mudiay at #3.

I read somewhere that the Knicks might take WCS at the #4 and I have to say if this really happens, Phil Jackson should be fired right from the spot.

One of the first things he has done in NY was get rid of Tyson Chandler who is basically the blueprint for Trill. But this for sure is nonsense like every NYK rumor right now.

In reality I could see Kaminski beeing drafted a bit to high this year. He is projected to go somewhere between 11 and 18 by most guys but he is a very smart player and I could see a team like detroit, the Hornets or the Nuggets go after him if Monroe leaves Detroit or the Hornets and/or Nuggets are doing the makeover many think might be ahead and if they think they could win more games next year.

On the other hand the Hornets already spent a few picks on big men so I have no plan.

one thing I know for sure, Sam Hinkie will make BOLD moves on draft day as usual. Some will love it and most of us will hate it but I just don’t see him draft let’s say Russell and call it a day. He will shop his 5 2nd rounders and the whole roster will look different when he is done.

I don’t really know if this would be a shocker but I could really see spaniard Hernandez beeing selected mid first round before pick 20. I don’t think there are many big men with his skill set available after him and if you are in need for a skilled big men and pick around mid first round and Frank is off the board you might reach for him.

Another player I could really see rise in the first round is Justin Anderson. To me he has as much upside as a wing as anybody and I wouldn’t be shocked if a team around the early teens thinks he could be in the PG13, Kawhi mold and goes after him.

Not sure if theses would be shockers but surprise picks at least. Wel’ll see

Yup. That’s exactly what I was getting ready to post. There was a report that there are a few teams in the lottery that are ready to pull the trigger on him. I can see why a team might prefer Hunter to Booker. MJ could be one of those guys

     Winslow goes @ 4

    Mudiay drops to 7th.

I actually think this is what I have in my mock at the moment. But I am messing around with it I am Not sure.

Tyus to Indiana at 11 is interesting. For me, it would probably be Hezonja in the top-5. It just seems like there’s something going on with him. Maybe he’ll even go No. 3, who knows.

Minny drafts THREE players in the first 20 picks. Actually not much of a shocker to those who have read enough reports…

Joseph Young goes 20th to the raptors, in preparation for a Lou Williams exodus. I’ve seen Young in very few first round mocks. Watching him at Oregon was a thrill and he seems like a Williams/Brooks bench energizer type. First round talent for sure
