Sure, he has had a delightful NCAA Tournament run…
…but he’s a weak athlete who only averages 3.6 assists/game (doesn’t do a good job creating for his teammates).

Cardinal_FanParticipantMack is a strong combo guard and is exactly wut the player he is most compared to at this point. Chauncey Billups wus a shot first combo to, until he got into the league and learned to open up his game an balance his scoring with creating shots for others. Shelvin Mack is obviously a better player than McCamey imo. McCamey couldnt even put together a consistent string of games as a senior in a major leadership role for Illinois. Mack has been the guy for Butler, an imo while Gordon Hayward wus gettin all the hype last year Mack wus really the engine that made Butler go.

ilike.panochasParticipantMcCamey is the better NBA prospect, because he has a true NBA position and he is a solid pure PG. Mack’s best destination is overseas.

mmichnowicz1Participanthe had a very good camp over the summer, but also when people play well in the ncaa tourney their stock goes up alot even if it should not. They are looking at it from that perspective. If butler wins it all he will go first round..+

B-ball fanParticipantHe is quicker with more defensive potential than McCamey. Mack isn’t used as a true pg by Butler; his role in Butler is as a scorer. I think Mack could be a very solid back-up pg in the NBA. His ability on the pick and roll will help him in the NBA.

Dale WorthingtonParticipantMcCamey is a true PG and a playmaker (it’s not his fault that his teammates are inconsistent and Bruce Weber’s coaching is questionable).
Mack is a 6’2 unathletic SG.
I don’t think he even gets drafted. That kind of player flat-out cannot produce in the NBA.

Shelvin Mack can contribute to the NBA though, I think he’s a bench player like a poor man’s Stuckey

The more i see Mack the more he reminds me of chauncey billups. who wasnt a true point guard until a couple years into the nba

I watched the Illni this season, McCamey was 5 levels better then their next best player. If he was on a team like Kentucky or Baylor, he’d be a top 15 pick this year. He had no good teammates.
