i remember back in his duke days he was the man. a beast on the boards. but ever since he enter the league after being drafted what 8th in the 2006 draft. hes been sorry as fuck. i dont think or yall that he will never live up to being pick that high. i do think like a team like the lakers, nuggets, boston he would be able to come off the bench and good role player.

He was seen as a big reach at the time. He won’t live up to the 6th pick, but if he is a scrappy D guy, gets tons of boards, and develops some reasonable offence he should eb able to stick. He brings the pain down low. His offence was seriously questioned when he came out. He was called “mechanical.” It seems as if every time I have heard that about a guy (unless he is 7’4 and athletic) he tends to be an offensive bust.

Basically the Hawks had tons of wing players and needed a post player who is not a project, and this was a very weak pf/c draft after Bargniani, Aldridge and Thomas. Think he was picked right before Roy.

Shelden Williams was drafted 5th overall in the 2006 NBADraft… The 6th pick was Brandon Roy… Yes my man, Brandon Roy… Mikenike, you’re not alone when you said Candace is gonna beat this guy one on one…LOL.. I think it was just dumb for the Hawks to draft him that high… The Hawks had a chance to get Randy Foye or Brandon Roy but they didn’t(especially when their need was a PG at that time)… They settled for an undersized center who is nothing more than Antonio Davis at best type of player. No wonder they got a grade of C- in draft night… I think he can be a good role player with any team, most preferably a playoff team… He can provide the energy and defense overall…but just because he dominated the college level, he’s gonna dominate the NBA..no… See, Ed O’Bannon, Joe Smith, Pervis Ellison and JJ Redick for more inquiries..

I KNEW SHELDON WILLIAMS WASN’T GOIN TO BE GREAT..BUT I WAS REALLY SHOCKED WHEN BOOZER LASTED UNTIL THE 2ND ROUND..BOOZER PROVED ME RIGHT..HE HAS BECOME AN ALL-STAR..BUT I THINK WILLIAMS HASN’T BEEN WITH THE RIGHT TEAM…LOOK AT CHAUNCEY BILLUPS.. HE BOUNCED AROUND WITH A FEW TEAMS B4 BECOMING AN ALL-STAR WITH THE PISTONS…

Williams seems to be a solid bench player. I mean madsen got 3 years and has been in the NBA for a while now and Williams is better than Madsen. Madsen could be more energetic though.

I am tired I meant 3 rings. Also Sheldon Williams put up some solid numbers in a few games but I mainly see him as a back up and another big body to throw at people but who knows he could be the Next Ben Wallace.

Everybody knew he was gonna suck. Just another huge mistake by Billy Knight that set the Hawks back for a little while. But he isnt an NBA player, he is too bad on offense, he is too sshort to play like he does and be effective (he’s basically a 6’7 center) and he’s very very foul prone. He does have a high bball IQ though so Phil Jackson may bring the best out of him, which is a 10th-12th man off the bench.

Sheldon doesn’t have the altheticism to become a big-time NBA player. However, he married and inpregnated Candice Parker (a female version of Garnett) so obviously, basketball isn’t the only professional sport he’s played in. lol!

Dhamp…the greatest mind in basketball. Next to Hubie Brown anyway.

He is just a big body post player to rough up the opposing teams best post player. No offensive ability whatsoever. No joke, I would rather have D.J. Mbenga than Shelden Williams or any other journeyman specialist big man for that matter.

It’s an insult to Fizer if you compare him to Shelden…LOL… But you know what, despite the two being busts, Fizer has accomplished more than Shelden Williams ever did…simos15 is right and I agree with him 100%..If you put Marcus versus Shelden one on one, Marcus Fizer will win it hands down… In terms of experience, Fizer served as a solid sixth man to a horrible Bulls team…Shelden served as a 10th man for a horrible Hawks team and a sixth man for a terrible Kings team… Fizer has his share of 20-20 while Shelden never had that accomplishment… Fizer had some unforgettable performance while Shelden has at least once or twice that he did have a double double… Hands down, among the two busters, I would choose my Fizer over the overrated LandLord…
