I was looking at Shawn Marion’s stats and accomplishments and he has put together a wonderful career. I was wondering if anyone else thought he has a chance to make the HOF one day. Here are some of his best numbers:

    Pts: 15,151

    Reb: 8,412

    Stls: 1,500

    Blks: 1,086

    FG%: 48.5

    4 time all star

2 time all nba 3rd team

He has also played for the USA National Team.

One of 5 player in NBA history with 1500 steals and 1000 blocks.(J. Erving, K. Malone, K. Garnett, & H. Olajuwon)

I believe he has 3 years left on his contract. With averages around his production for the last couple years, he can finish his career with over 17,500 points and 9,500 rebounds.

So, what are the chances that "The Matrix" makes the Hall of Fame?

Sources for stats and accomplishments are from nba.com and wikipedia.

He definitely deserves a look. Those are some great stats for a career, I now he was a key component in the Mavs tiltle run, despite now having his all-star form from previous years.

I never thought about him in a HOF way either, but I just thought with his numbers it could be fun to have the conversation.

Marion has a few more years left so lets see where it goes. As of right now he is not. Definitly not a first ballot HOF.

I agree definately not a first ballot guy. I mean Rodman got in as a rebounder/defender. Marion has good offensive numbers and good defensive numbers. I think he has been under appreciated in his career. I mean 1 of 5 players on a list with Malone, Dr.J, Hakeem, and KG is special.
