He currently has 18 points and 8 assists against the Magic right now( The Wiz are getting killed) I really like him on the Wizards and think he might be able to be a solid role player with them and a cheap backup for next year, as he and the Wizards have expressed desire for him to stay. What do you guys think? Does he actually have a legit shot at reviving his once promising career?

I hope so because he has incredible talent. A true 6’7 PG. That play when he blew out his knees was one of the worst, if not the worst, injuries I have seen on a basketball court.

It is hard to watch so don’t say I didn’t warn you!

i remember seeing this kid play as a HS senior at peoria, illinois. i really wish he had gone to duke for even just a year, even though he was taken really high. quite the talent, will never reach what could have been his full potentail.

I don’t want to sound like a hater, and I’m well aware I may lose a lot of points for this post, but there are a lot of players with a ton of potential that just don’t make it. I know this it the land where when someone has a good game they are the next best thing, but I am a firm believer that injuries destroyed this guy’s career. He is talented, yes, and so he can have a good game now and again, but I don’t think he will ever be more than a backup point guard or, in this case a reliable option when a team is depleated with injuries or in Washington’s case when they are just plain bad.

That being said, I feel like a lot of you guys are like Indie music snobs who get their kicks on knowing guys before they made it big and being the first to jump on the bandwagon of a guy who was once down and out. I love a good underdog story, but Livingston will be an after thought in 5 years a guy who could have made it and a brief stint of good games for one of the worst teams in the league doesn’t change that. Kevin Ollie beat him out for OKC earlier in the year for a reason. He is getting minutes because 5’5” Earl Boykins is out with an injury. Best of luck to the guy, but you guys can be the first to call be out when he is out of the league or riding the pine next season.

^^ I don’t think anyone above was saying that he was going to be an all-star. The question was could he be a solid role player or a cheap back up? The kid has the talent to do so, he did go 5th in the draft out of high school. I hope he does well. I am from Chicago and didn’t get a chance to see him play because he played downstate but he was all over the papers and news.

I don’t think people get carried away when someone has a good game, I think that it just reminds them of how good players were supposed to be. Clearly the kid can play, he just needs minutes like everyone else.

cant get mad at this post. especially on here. you know peoplelove to think big after a player has one good game. you already know they dont wait till a couple of games. you should be used to this by now

This could be a real confidence booster for him…hopefully the wizards resign him this offseason.

i know qunicey, the multiple Darko posts I saw last night and a day of drinking beer and watching basketball kind of put me in a “what the hell?” mood in regards to a Livingston post. He do doubt has talent, but i don’t think he can stay healthy and play big minutes, his injuries were at a real critical point in his development since he came out of high school and I think he has a looong way to go.

Yo Quincey you’re just the biggest hater on guys after they have one good game. You have been hating on Sergio “the deer” Rodriguez for the longest time, and he is playing like he invented basketball. Yeah he DNP when the Knicks owned the Mavs, but if he played they would have won by like 70, lolz. I am obviously kidding Quincey, I have always respected your patience when making a judgment on a player.

What about Derrick Favors, you have to say he really stepped it up the last couple of weeks.

Favors looked real good today, he has improved a lot this season and showcased his overall skill set pretty well in the Duke game

to be honest he hasnt done anything too different. hes just getting the ball more and staying out of foul trouble.. hes still doing the same moves hes always done and scoring within a foot of the basket. hes not ready to go to the nba and contribute but i wouldnt advice him to come back when hes gonna be a top 5 pick. they said on espn yesterday or the day before that they asked the ast coachs if they think hes staying and they all said no

I was just congratulating him for having a good game against a good team and I did not make an outlandish claim about him becoming a star or anything…. I think he could be a reliable backup or a fringe starter on a bad team (like my Wizards). But, because of his talent he is a high risk high reward kind of guy that will sign with a bad team (again, the Wizards) for a very low amount of money. A cheap contributer is a very valuable asset on a rebuilding team hoping to make a big splash in the offseason.
