with kobe hurt or so called bad bench has stepped up pretty nicely. shannon brown being the main one. hes avg 15 a game as a starter. playing very exciting basketball and best of all he is working hard and playing good defense, we have beat playoff teams and it wasnt even real close. i say with the way we have been playing we should think about trading kobe this summer……………………………………………………….lol..riiiiiight. but its good that the players are stepping up while he heals. hopefully he decides to sit out untill we lose 2 in a row. after tonight he will have another 5 days to heal before the next game

barkley made a good comment right now. He said kobe going out has caused the other lakers to get off their butt. It seems like Odom should be an all-star every year the way he has been playing these last 4 games. He must beaveraging over 15 rebounds a game easy. And Shannon Brown has been earning some serious money this year. I believe he is still like 23 years old. With his defense athleticsm and now a money jumper and improving off the dribble game, i could see someone making him a starter and offering him some nice money.

Shannon needs to be our starting pg really…LA doesnt need a real pg…just someone that will hit shots and play good defense….he can honestly be Kobe best point guard he ever played with while on the Lakers…

I said it this summer, Shannon Brown is the Lakers’ best PG. He provides all of Fisher and Farmar’s strong suits in one.

yea he could handle the pg duties in that system. i think they are starting to realie that and phil knows it. hes just so loyal to fisher. i think this is the last year of fisher starting though

I still think that overall their bench is weak. They really don’t have much depth on the bench and these guys won’t play this well when Kobe comes back because everyone has to play a little differently when Kobe is there, especially Brown and Farmar because they won’t be able to be as aggressive. I do agree that Brown is their best pg though. I just don’t fear a bench of Brown, Odom, Walton and Farmar. Though anything that bench can give them outside of Odom is a huge plus because they get a lot from the rest of the starters on a nightly basis minus Fisher.

dont need to be real deep. all you need is a stroing three guys and the fourth can be so-so….farmar,brown,odom…luke walton or powell or mbenga. since we already have a title we dont even need a real strong bench……..and nice last second shot to end the quarter shannon

I’ll put Odom, brown and farmar with just about any top bench. Walton usually gives good minutes as well. It’s not a great bench, but’s it’s not a weakness either imo.

    Shannon Brown wasn’t the problem.
It was Farmar, Vujacic and the other guys outside of Odom.

no famar isnt bad…is it me or does it seem like whenever shannon scores or gets a steal drive and dunk..farmar comes and does somethin that makes you proud…its like he is playing against shannon almost not against the other team
