joecheck88ParticipantAll this talk about Nate Robinson, Russell Westbrook, or Derrick Rose being in the dunk contest as great dunking little guys, I think Shannon Brown should be in the dunk contest this year. He jumps as high as anyone in the league, maybe higher. So lets start the Shannon Brown in the 2010 dunk contest bandwagon. Who’s with me?

whiteflashParticipantI still maintain he kicked Lebrons ass in the McD’s dunk contest. He did a 360 off one leg from a step inside the foul line. He’s got long arms, huge hands and serious bounce. All that makes for a great dunker.

JNixonParticipantYea…he’s a freakish athlete. He’s one of the absolute best athlete’s in the NBA…hands down. And yes, he should’ve beaten Lebron that year. Lebron just was hyped up and the judges where amazed at high his head was to the rim. But Brown has better style to me as well.

SupParticipantHe has waaaaaaaaaaaay more hops than all of those people mentomed, including lebron but excluding Nate. He had a yrs worth highlights at the end of preseason. Powell jumped and he jumped 3 feet higher and dunked (on his own teammate) on a 3 pointer miss! He jumps like dr.j in his prime. Lakers got him for two mill, lolz. One man showtime and Charlotte was worried about Raymond Felton that’s toooooooooooo funny.

joecheck88Participantya the 360 and the one handed windmill in the 2003 mcdonald’s dunk contest owned lebron but it was still lebron and he won. there were some good athletes that year too. lebron, shannon brown, jr giddens, von wafer, and travis outlaw(he didn’t compete). I think shannon brown is a steal for the lakers at his price tag and is turning into one of my favorite dunkers in the league. the guy just has another level with his dunks. If you get a chance watch the NBA.com top 5 from yesterday and watch how high he gets on the last replay and doing it at 6’3. AMAZING.

JNixonParticipantYea Giddens and Wafer were great as well in the Slam Dunk that year. And that dunk last night was CRAZY. There were quite a few great dunks last night

RUDEBOYShannon is a tremendous leaper..He’s had several breathtaking dunks this year alone…But some players are better dunking during games..Then trying to think of breathtaking dunks to do, when the adrenaline rush & competition isn’t there….

quincey hodgesyeah he should be in it as well as mayo( since dunk contest isnt game dunks)…because as far as bounce..nate has everyone in theleauge beat then vince…jmoon, farmar, thortan, ronnie brewer,oj mayo, mike conley jr nick young, rudy gay then …suprise brandon roy…lebron is somewhere in there but he didnt get his vert measured
0 - Posted on: Fri, 11/13/2009 - 8:31am #229356
whiteflashParticipantDid you just say OJ Mayo should be in the dunk contest? The same OJ Mayo who despite being bigger and stronger than most of his opponents still gets cut off on almost every drive and gets a simple dunk every 3 or so games? For the last godd@mned time: OJ MAYO IS NOT AN EXPLOSIVE ATHLETE. HE IS AN AVERAGE ATHLETE BY NBA STANDARDS. DEAL WITH IT.

quincey hodgesyep cuz this is a dunk contest not a actually game..you dont have to worry about a defender cutting you off…when you have a 40inch vert then you have a chance of winning in a dunk contest..even if you arent that creative all you have to do is look at old dunk contest to come up wit ideas….YOU DONT HAVE TO BE A GREAT ATHLETE TO BE IN A DUNK CONTEST JUST BE ABLE TO JUMP HIGH WHICH HE CAN…THATS COMMON SENSE..DEAL WIT THAT
0- Posted on: Fri, 11/13/2009 - 10:28am #229399
whiteflashParticipantCommon sense would be you realizing you talk out of your ass more often than not. I’d bet dollars to donuts Mayo’s vert was inflated, just like Joe Alexanders vert was trimmed. Alexander has vids of him banging his head against the rim and they gave him a 38″ at about 6’8″. From the math alone he’s at a 40″ just to touch the rim with his head, so he’s closer to a 42-43″. Oj Mayo has never head his head anywhere near the backboard, let alone the rim. You claim to have played overseas yet fail to grasp some very simple concepts about basketball and athleticism. It makes no sense.

IndianaBasketballParticipantQuincey Hodges is by far the biggest fraud on this site. He does have SOME knowledge about basketball, but not as much as he thinks he does. He’s as fraudulent as they come. Why else would he need FOUR different accounts to post from? Josh Huestis, Kurtis.Formerly Josh Huestis., Jakarii33 and Quincey Hodges. Lame. Nobody was agreeing with him during one argument I had with him, so he switched to his Jakarii33 acount and tried to double team me lol. Lame.
I can go down the list of fraudulent posts and comments he’s made showing his lack of understanding of basketball. Saying Mayo should be in the dunk contest is just the latest comment showing he has no real understanding of basketball.

IndianaBasketballParticipantYea… It’s all good too because I’ve aired him out while he was signed into all FOUR of his accounts. Here’s what you need to do Quincey…
1. Take some time off and increase your knowledge and understanding of the game
2. Come back and create a new nbadraft.net account, so you can have a fresh start 😉0 - Posted on: Fri, 11/13/2009 - 11:24am #229427

sheltwon3ParticipantAlso if if that vert is correct. Brown is so much more explosive. The same with jumping high and hang time. Some guys may not jump as high but seem to hang in the air longer. I do not under this but it is true.
