AdamJCallejaParticipantI’m not sure if anyone has posted something similar too this, but I just wanted say how much Shabazz resembles Trey Burk in their tourney runs. From what I’ve seen their games are somewhat similar and their toughness, heart and will to win are just identical. Neither of them have the upside due to their lack of athleticism although I do think Shabazz is quicker. Who do you guys think will be the better pro in a few years?

Memphis MadnessParticipantNapier reminds me more of Steph Curry. Pure scorer, sweet shot and awesome range. He should be a top 10 pick.

ProudGrandpaParticipantDude is 6’1, a sub-43% shooter, and a guy who averaged under 5 assists in 35 minutes of action per game

AdamJCallejaParticipantStephen Curry is over the top, but c’mon Trey Burke is as realistic as it gets. They both look like their ceiling is a starter for an average NBA team. Same size and both of their strengths is scoring.

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantNapier is Marbury 2.0 in my book… Great competitor. Lebron said no PG should be taken over him in the lottery.. (its on Lebron s Twitter) But I agree.. maybe Smart and Ennis because of Upside (IM not counting Lavine and Exum because I think they are SG) but Napier is a winner and a pure pg.. Comparison is Marbury or a Poor mans Cp3..

For_Never_EverParticipantYou guys seemed to have fogotten how good and talented Marbury was. I can’t take you guys seriously, if the hype from this game gotten to you this much.

princejamesParticipantShabazz Napier
Best Case Scenario: Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e93l5so7f9s )
Realistic Scenario: Carlos Arroyo ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3u-AmPf9bY )
Worst Case Scenario: Tyronn Lue ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfu7kupIdGo )Shabazz is very skilled, tough, fearless, and extremely confident in his abilities. He’s also a talented shooter / scorer who has the unique ability to make difficult shots against tough defense. I think the key to his ability to have a long and successful career in the NBA. Will ultimately come down to his ability to consistently:
1. Utilize a high level of poise and savvy
2. Utilize good ball protection skills and good decision making skills
3. Utilize the ability to be a great facilitator who can create scoring opportunities for his teammates at a very high level
4. And utilize great defensive skills, defensive instincts, and defensive awareness against the very talented point guards in the NBA0 - Posted on: Mon, 04/07/2014 - 7:16pm #886683

theprophetParticipanttrey burke is without a doubt the better player and pro prospect imo, but i have to say, as far as tourney runs go, napier did have a pretty magical tournament fueled by toughness, the will to win like burke did in last year’s tournament.

TheLastWordParticipantBurke leans much closer to a true PG than Napier, and when you’re barely over 6 foot, that’s a big plus. There is a reason Burke was mocked at #3 at one point and Napier never even made it into the teens. Napier is a year and 4 months older than Burke. They both have huge hearts and the clutch factor going for them.

OhCanada-ParticipantHate him or love him? The love is way to much throwing names like Curry and Marbury come on man poor mans CP3? How vague is that.
Napier reminds me of a smaller (weight and strength) Jarrett Jack. He has an all around "good" game with no glaring weaknesses but he probally wont be amongst league leaders in any stat. I personally think Jack is a starter calibur PG and one of the more underrated players in the game not quite sure what others think about him.

boomdizzalParticipant- he looks and his jumper looks alot like monta ellis, but he is shorter and nowhere near monta athletically.
- And no way he is marbury or steph level, those 2 had supreme pg skills.
- Marbury was the total package at point guard skill wise, he was just to selfish and egotistical. People have compared Kyrie Irving’s talent and demenaor to Marbury.
- I dont see Napier shooting like Curry; 54 at MSG is all i have to say to end that debate.

Jester87ParticipantHe obviously won’t be as good as Curry, not even close, but I understand people making the comparison, the way he moves, the way he makes those one hand passes, the slight kick when he shoots coming off screen, all the pull up jumpers. He has some Stephen Curry in him, of course he’s at least two inches smaller, not as good a shooter, but I think he has watched a lot of Steph and he tries to model his game after Curry’s. I never thought of him as an Nba prospect until this year, but honestly he is too skill not to get considerations. I don’t know how good can he be, mostly because of his physical and athletic limitations, but he really shocked me during the tournament, after not seeing him much throughout the rest of the season.

youngd23ParticipantAm I the only one who sees a bit of Damian Lillard in him? People may disagree but coming out of College y’all remember Lillard.. He had alot of questions regarding whether he could run the PG or not, and of course he’s proven people wrong and shown that he’s a good PG. So people may not see that now, but I truly see a lot more Lillard in Napier.

machu46ParticipantI can definitely see the similarities between Burke and Napier, but Burke was a little more of a PG and is also younger. Burke was a better prospect, but I don’t think Shabazz would be a bad 20+ pick if a team needs a PG.
