DolanCareParticipantShabazz can be a polarizing figure- not because of his off-court stuff but because a lot of folks genuinely dislike his game. I’ll admit that his assist line, which looks like online code with all of the 0s and 1s, is startling.
But if you watch him play it’s not THAT much of an issue. He moves without the ball and is great at putting himself in scoring position. A lot of his points come from cuts to the rim or by posting up smaller defenders. It’s not as if he goes on dribble adventures, he’s a scorer who puts himself in place to make a FG as soon as he gets the ball.
Plus he’s a good rebounder, he crashes the offense glass where quite a few of his points come as put back dunks. He’s not the athelte that Wiggins is but he’s a physically and willfully strong dude who doesn’t shy away from contact.
Lastly, he rarely turns over the ball. I know that’s hardly surprising considering that he never passes it. But it does show that he’s not a liability with the rock which is important for someone who is coming off the bench. Bazz doesn’t have the issue of getting stripped on the way up or getting stuck in traps. (I’m looking at you Dion Waiters).
Obviously, Wiggins should be starting for Minnesota because of his ceiling. But Bazz has been playing well and is very much an asset that should be talked about more in the basketball intelligensia.

chrispaulwallParticipantRubio/Lavine/Muhammad/Wiggins/Bennet/Dieng is such an excellent core. T Wolves have so much young talent

properbreaksParticipantThe thing I always thought about Muhummad was I don’t feel most people respected his grind. What I mean by that is, he will work hard to score. Most players with big talent in the NBA don’t go that hard. He’d Go hard to the hole with contact, work on his jumper, even post people up strong which 3s don’t do anymore, much less 2s. and go thru that challenge. He will do the dirty work like you said to score. They used to put Kobe comparisons on him but it wasn’t because he was just like Kobe or talented as Kobe, but I think because he like Kobe, will sacrifice whatever to put points on the board and won’t stop regardless.

AdamJCallejaParticipantI just can’t help but root for this guy because he plays so damn hard. This guy treats every possession like it’s game 7 of the finals. It doesn’t really mean much but I like guys who are constantly yelling or clapping their hands and bring a lot of emotion. Shabazz is always pumping himself up and screaming when he gets an and1. I would love to see Shabazz have a long and successful NBA career.

iminipandaParticipantI have watched him play a couple of times this season and his rebounding is an underated aspect of his game. He puts up really nice numbers and plays bigger than his size. Probably what you want from a 2/3 wing. It has been a surprise to me for sure.

phila9012ParticipantI kind of like that he is a unique player. The one thing that was talked about when he was drafted was how hard he worked and it shows when he plays. He got him self into shape. I just hope he works on his defense and shooting, if he does that he will have a long career as a border line starter. He is good at finishing plays on offense, which is good to have on a young team. Also the future looks good for the timberwolves becaue we should be getting a big man in the draft since it is loaded with them at the top and that is exactly what we are missing. I hope we get towns or okafor. Add one of those guys to our core and I think we are set. I think both should become 18 to 22ppg scorers in the league, combine that with 20 to 25 from wiggins and this team should be in the playoffs in 3 years. They need to hit on 2 drafts in a row, that was their problem with love, they got him in a draft day trade and then missed on 3 out of 4 top 6 picks in the three following years.

TimberTrollParticipantThankfully Kahn is gone and Flip looks to be a decent drafter.

phila9012ParticipantKahn and McHale, McHale made the love trade, but messed every other pick up and traded the 10th pick for Marco Jaric.
