goneParticipantOf the 30 nba teams only the
- Blazers- Wes Matthews
- Warriors- Ellis
- Wizards- Young
- Heat- Wade
- Knicks- Fields
- Kings- Evans
- 76ers- Turner
- Clippers- Gordan
- Grizzlies- Mayo
- Hornets- Thornton
- Hawks- Joe Johnson
- Nets- Morrow
- Nuggets- Afflalo
- Pacers- Rush
- Pistons- Gordon
- Raptors- DeRozan
- Rockets- Martin
- Thunder- Harden
- Wolves- Brewer
Have starting Shooting Guards under 30. And of those teams only 4 of those teams have a SG under 25 who has shown future star promise. In 3 years players like Kobe, Wade, Roy, Manu, S-Jax, Joe Johnson, VC, Ray Ray will be either retired, or less productive. Do you see any of these players (or in college/high school) being in the top 10 players in the NBA or will the PF/SF and PGs take over the top spots?

Lotto StudParticipantI wish All-Star status for Mayo, but he will never reach it for the simple fact that he has officially took the Jamal Crawford role……."6th man never a starter again"

Wavy BagelsParticipantEvan Turner- once he gets familiar with the game, another walking triple double
Eric Gordon -although he’s gonna be in Blake’s shadow, neitherless still an amazing player and has his share of highlights himself
Aaron Aflalo – IMO most improved other than Hibbert and D Wright, plays great defense at the wing, shooting percentages are incredible, once he gets more opportunities at the offensive end and he could be great SG in 1-3 years

JBrace19ParticipantIf the shooting guards are on a decline and teams begin to start two PGs like the Mavs with Kidd, and Barea. This leaves hope for combo guards like Brandon Knight, Austin Rivers, etc. Then they dont have to keep up with the 6’6” or 6’7” SGs.

JoeWolf1James Harden is still really young and in a spot where he really doesn’t have a big role on the team. I think in by the time he’s 25 he can be a fringe All-Star type player. No, I don’t see him as a top shooting guard in the league, but I could see him being a 16-19 ppg scorer ( that is if he isn’t still playing on the same team as Durant and Westbrook).
James Anderson is also a guy I think could be a very good shooting guard in years to come. He’s got all the tools to do so, and he was doing pretty well early in the year for the Spurs before he went down. He’s a flat out scorer, and a bit of a darkhorse ( a rookie who’s played 9 games) but I think he’s legit if he can stay healthy.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantJust wait for Shabazz Muhammad. I know everybody is going nuts over the centers in the class of 2012 like Drummond, Austin, and Coleman. But the more games I actually watch the more convinced I am that Muhammad will turn out to be the franchise player out of the class. He attacks the rim like a young Dwyane Wade and plays with fire. I think Scout has him listed at SF now, but he’s 6-5 and will almost definitly play SG in the NBA.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantBy the time guys like Kobe, Ray, Manu, VC, Roy and Stephen Jackson are about to retire more young guys will emerge as stars. Future players like Rivers and Muhammed but also young players like Derozan and Paul George are capable of future all star appearances.

Stanford hoops1Mayo will be a starter again and a very good one. Just won’t be for the Grizz. His defense has gone way down hill though for some reason. He went from a good defender to a Derrick Rose last year defender

BigDParticipantTo be honest, i can’t see OJ Mayo being the All-Star player people think he could be. If he struggles playing alongside Rudy Gay and Zach Randolph, how is he going to get at an All-Star level? The only teams it seems at this stage he’ll be capable of contributing on will be the bottom of the league teams like the Cavs and Raptors, with nobody better then him on the team so he can do as he pleases.
