The Lakers are in serious trouble, they need to make moves and fast. I have three players in mind that can help the Lakers in the three positions they need the most improvement in. My first player is a big to defend the paint, Marc Gasol via free agency, my second player is a swing man that can score and defend at the Small Forward spot, Tobias Harris via free agency, my third player is a defensive minded point guard with offensive skills, Reggie Jackson via free agency. all three of these players would be a wonderful addition to the Lakers team next season plus the draft picks they have next season the Lakers line up next season could look like this:

In all honesty, I don’t see the Lakers in being in any real trouble. Lakers need to sit tight and ride this season out. They are so bad they should keep their 1st pick (which is top 5 protected).

Remember Randle is out for the year and will be back next year, who I really rate as a player.

They will have no problem attracting FA’s to LA so I really doubt they will be down longer then this season.

They have some narrow-minded people on this website but your "plan" is atrocious. The players you are targetting are good fits but you failed to account for a number of prominent factors at play and how they could make these proposals unrealistic. For one, why would these guys leave better situations to play for the Lakers with Kobe in gunner mode? Second, why would their teams let them go? Both Reggie Jackson and Tobias Harris are restricted free agents to be and their current teams can match any offer. Marc Gasol is an unrestricted free agent but the Grizzlies are a far better team, so why leave that for a rebuilding situation? These concerns make your proposal improbable.

Would they shut down Kobe for the chance to protect the draft pick, how would Kobe take it, given his salary can they justify it would the team’s fans like it.

Also you have the feeling will Kobe ever hand over the keys in effect to another player whilst he is on the team.

As regards FAs, I’d guess the Lakers would ideally like to chase top draw guys and go all in for them. To get any decent RFA you have to virtually max them out and the Lakers may not want to possibly be left with a guy if his team decides not to match.
