Anton123ParticipantI’ve watched Sergio play in the preseason and now he’s been amazing in his first game against the Thunder. He was so good that in the 32 minutes that he played the Sixers were actually +8. 9 assists on 0 turnovers with such an untalented team is terrific.
I really hope Rodriguez can become an important member of a good team next year, no way should he was the end of his rime on a team like Philly. Alternatively Philly can make some great trades and become good fast, then I’ll be happy for Sergio too.

Mr. HookShotParticipantHe’s one of those players who seems to play the game at his own pace, seemingly never in a rush to throw the ball away. Very, very good court vision, decent outside shot and with his olympic experience he is a good leader for this young 76ers team. Although he might not be the guy who leads to you the playoffs at the PG position, he will provide a boost to the development of Philly’s talentend big guys.

Jr. ROXASParticipantHe saved his career when he developed that jumpshot of his. I remember his jumper to be a little be funky back then like 7 years ago, but he the patched it up. He shoots it with confidence too. He’s like the Spanish version of Teodosic, but slightly less of a shooter.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantI think philly is actually a good situation for him right now, as it gives him an opportunity to get mins on the court and re-acclimate himself to the NBA game. If he were on a stronger roster it’s unlikely he would be getting much playing time or even make the team.
Rodriguez is a better player than he was when he last played in the NBA. His jump shot has improved as has his confidence. He just has a great feel for the game. However, he will always be limited in some regards. His lack of size and athleticism makes him a liability on defense and he struggles to get to the basket and finish. He probably tops out as backup pg on a playoff team.

Roland209Participantwhen he was mocked as a top 3 pick years ago. His comparison was Jason Williams.

SlickBouncePassParticipantoh hope he doesn’t waste him time on the Sixers, granted, the Sixers are a few role players away. They need to deepen their bench and let their very strong young talent develop and stay injury free. Sergio is a smart player who can help them.
He is fine playing on this squad. I’d like to see him maybe as a backup on San Antonio, but I’ve seen him play live here. His defense is very suspect. He is very small on the floor.
A team with two strong guards he won’t be able to match up against because they will take advantage of his defense.
I think he and Bayless will be a nice set of point guards. I wish the Sixers had Rondo, Rondo coudl’ve educated these guys as their floor general that taught them the right shot to take and the right pass to make.
But for the 76ers, they are on the rise. Embiid and Simmons make everyone around them better, its an energy thing. You saw it in Stauskas and Grant raising their games around Embiid. It won’t be long before Free Agents realize Philly is one of the best basketball towns to play in.

Anton123ParticipantRondo would’ve been a horrible fit with Ben Simmons though. Also when Simmons returns from his injury, Bayless will probably start because he is a better fit than Sergio, so Rodriguez will play less minutes. Unless the Sixers become really good – no way should Rodriguez be content being a backup guard on a bad team, the guy is 31 and doesn’t have time to lose.
