I honestly saw this one coming. He has been buried in Duke’s bench for the past 2 years and it’s a shame he didn’t get to showcase his amazing athletic gifts in Duke uni. There’s simply too much talent at Duke for him to get consistent minutes, so transferring made all the sense. I believe that he couldv’e had a better chance to crack the line up if he had better shot selection. Of his 18 shots this season, 16 on them were 3’s. Showcase that insane athletic ability and get the rim bro. Even without him, Duke will be pretty set at that 3/4 position with Jefferson, Rice transfer Sean Obi, Matt Jones and Grayson Allen who both can run some 3. Hopefully this is an indication that Brandon Ingram is coming to Durham and he knew there would be a serious log jam for minutes. Regardless, Semi was one of my favorite players on the roster and I wish he could’ve showcased more of that athleticism and scoring prowess that made him a highly rated recruit. Best of luck wherever you end up!

I remember seeing a practice video of a ridiculous alley oop dunk by him. He obviously had freakish athleticism but I’m sure he didn’t have the skillset to match that. The amount of transfers out of the Duke program in the past 10 years has been ridiculous. it has to lead all major college basketball programs. K doesn’t really go deep in his bench so talented guys are stuck at the end of the bench. The transfer of Ojeleye will not hurt Duke this year at all.

Why have so many good players if you’re not going to use them?  At least Kentucky uses their players.

I’ve seen that video too. I’ve also seen a video of him hitting his head on the backboard while blocking someone. Dude is a freak of nature athlete. He won the Iron Man award at Duke 2 years in a row. I never thought he’d be a star or anything but a guy with that athleticism would be a definite game changer. He will be missed but yeah, they don’t need him.

Completely with you. I thought this was the year K opened up his bench but I guess not. If Semi got out there and did more than shoot 3’s, he definitely could’ve been a servicable energy guy off the bench.

Going to be interesting how K is going to figure out the wing rotation next season.  He will likely have Matt Jones, Luke Kennard, Rasheed Sulaimon, and Grayson Allen.  Can any of them play point?  There is a high chance that Tyus will go pro (he has been a pleasent surprise for me this season, a lot better than I thought).

He would be a good fit at VCU.

High upside kid, with what I hear is an outstanding attitude. Any ideas of where he is looking at going?

I know coming out of high school he didn’t have Kansas or Kansas State on his lists but I think he could transfer to Kansas State and provide a dynamic one two punch with Marcus Foster. He would be a huge get for the wildcats. No idea if this is even in play I just think it makes sense if he wants too play closer too home.
