llperezive been more into college bball this year then just about any other year(thanks lakers). Cant wait to see where teams are seeded. Hoping the bruins get a solid matchup. Already got thursday and friday off from work and have friends coming in from out of town so will be just around the clock bball for me this opening weekend. Anyways, just created this thread for any general discussion.
Ill tell you one team i have really liked for a month or so now is iowa st. Even when i have seen them lose i just really like the skill. Dont want to commit to any team advance of seeing the brackets, but i really think they might be in my final 4.
ANd ucla is really peaking. The way they fought zona tough last night without backing down shows this team is more capable of mixing it up then some give them credit for. Zona did not play a bad game, they just got beat.

HaleParticipantYeah UCLA is looking dangerous now. As is Louisville, and the winner of the Big 10 will be riding a nice wave of momentum too. I just hope Memphis gets a favorable matchup or two. I honestly have no clue who I’ll pick to win it all this year, first time I’ve ever said that.

JoeWolf1Yeah man, congrats on the Bruins, I kind of furrowed my brow when you had them ranked higher than Zona on your post a week or so ago, but I didn’t say anything because I know you watch way more Pac 12 ball than I do. They could be pretty dangerous.
I’ve seen a lot of Iowa State, and those guys can score and they have a lot of guys that can do it. Teams like that are scary because if someone has an off night more likely than not someone else is hitting for 20 plus. They have 3 guys that average over 16 points per game. Their weakness will be if they get matched up with an elite rim protector. Joel Embiid just freaked them out, they were not able to play their game at all, but guys like Embiid are few and far between in the college game, and I wouldn’t be shocked to see them go really deep.

llperezthanks. Great game last night. I know you watch big 12 ball being a Kansas fan(sorry about embiid) and the one tourney bound team from the big12 that im not familiar with is Oklahoma. What do you think about them?

JoeWolf1They play small ball, Cameron Clark is a 6’7" SG/SF and he’s their 4th guard. Spangler acts their lone post and he’s only 6’8" and not much of a rim protector, but he’s all blue collar and tough as nails. Classic Lon Kruger team, though, extremely well coached and Clark and Hield ( who is late 1st round talent IMO ) are a nice 1/2 scoring punch. Clark hung 32 on KU and Mich State, and Hield is capable of hitting 20+
Id expect them to win a game, but they’re not as dynamic as an ISU, who play a similar style, so I don’t see them as a major threat to go real deep. Then again, I’ve seen Lon take a less talented UNLV team to the sweet 16.

Memphis MadnessParticipantIf Memphis gets stuck in the 8-9 game, I wouldn’t mind taking a shot at Wichita State in the second round. No pressure on us, all on Wichita State. They are undefeated but not super-big, or super-athletic, or a team with a ton of pure shooters.
Memphis hung in there with Florida, split with Oklahoma State, and beat Louisville twice.
I think we would match up pretty well with Wichita State.

Ghost01ParticipantIf Wichita plays a bigger team, they could be in trouble.
But I still think they have a pretty nice shot of having a deep tourney run.

llperezall right, ucla gets a nice spot. Tulsa then should get vcu/Stephen f Austin winner in second round. Then arch nemesis florida looms in sweet 16
