Knicksboy42ParticipantWho do you think will be the 2nd pick in this year’s draft?

joecheck88ParticipantDepends on who is picking but I am still a believer that Andre Drummond is going to beast workouts and lick himself into that number 2 spot.

BasketBalAllanParticipantDepends on who gets the pick and how the workouts go. My guess would be MKG.

PulseGlazerParticipantIt depends entirely upon who gets the pick.
Charolette: I’d guess Barnes, mostly because I see Jordan pull having an effect here.
Washington – Beal fits them best, I think, as he spaces the floor, and they have a gaping hole at the 2.
Cleveland – Beal or Barnes. They don’t have the shooters for MKG to make sense. I could see them going Drummond.
Hornets – Drummond’s best fit, likely. Robinson also makes some sense here.
NJ – Drummond or bust, right?
Sacto – Drummond with Cousins makes too much sense.
GS – MKG is the best bet here, as they could use that toughness and D.
Toronto – Barnes or Beal – this team needs a 2/3 who can shoot.
Detroit – Drummond next to Monroe could be beastly.

CavsFan07ParticipantIf MKG is available for the Cavs, I don’t see them passing on him. I understand the shooters argument. However, Kyrie is a very good shooter for a PG, Gibson can shoot off the bench, and they could grab another shooter with one of their 3 picks inbetween 24-34 (Jenkins?) Kyrie and MKG were HS teammates so already have some chemistry, not to mention the Cavs are insanely weak at the 2-3 positions. MKG brings a toughness and tenacity that Chris Grant and Gilbert are looking for in young players.
On to the actual topic, I think it’s between MKG and Drummond, as Drummond has too much potential to not be considered. Maybe someone will take Thomas Robinson #2, but I just don’t see that happening.

JoeWolf1MKG or Robinson would be my bets. I have Drummond ranked at #5, but I could see him as a player someone reaches for.
I think measurements will play a factor.
If MKG is under 6’7” in shoes I think he’ll fall. If he’s close to 6’8” in shoes I think he’ll be in the mix.
If T-Rob is under 6’9” in shoes, I think he’ll fall. If he’s pushing 6’10” in shoes, I think he may be a lock.
If Drummond is right at 6’10” in shoes, I think he’ll fall. If he’s over 6’11” in shoes, I think he may be a lock.
Beal and Barnes are also in the mix, but I feel their measurements aren’t as important.
A lot of people Love MKG, but if he’s 6’5.5” barefoot, I doubt he’ll go #2. I think that will drop him to 3 or 4. Same thing with Robinson, if he’s 6’7” barefoot, I think he’ll drop couple spots too. Drummond will be in the mix because he’s a center, but if he’s not as big or as athletic as projected he’ll drop.

mosdefParticipantusually height always wins in the draft unless the wing has really good ball skills with dribbling/creating.
I love MKG but he hasnt really shown at Kentucky to be a Grant Hill, Scottie Pippen ball handler to be the 2nd pick. His Gerald Wallace comparison is a good one but it wouldnt shock me if he went 2 due to the other guys have flaws as well
Thomas Robinson is in the mix but it will depend on his height. Some people have said that he is too small to defend the PF position at 6’9” but like JoeWOlf once said, majority of the PFs are undesized then. If being 6’10” or taller makes a PF a good defender someone forgot to tell Amare and Dirk. Josh Smith is doing great at 6’9”. In shoes, if TRob is 6′ 9” then I think he is slight favorite to be 2nd pick over MKG.
Drummond- the dude is 7 feet tall. That will get you drafted regardless

Zeke313ParticipantI feel so stupid now because at the beginning of the season when the Pistons were total garbage and were pretty much locks to get a top 5 pick all I heard was the talk of us taking T-Rob 4th. I wasn’t having any of it. I had never heard of him before this seaon and couldn’t figure out the hype. Now 3 months later we dropped all the way to 9th and it looks like no impact players will be left by that time. I WAS A FOOL FORGIVE ME MY BELOVED PISTONS FOR MY SKEPTICISM HAS TAKEN AWAY A GREAT OPPORTUNITY lol
