     Hello all!

    My seasonal season pick ’em game is back for year 3! It’s pretty simple, you just pick the standings for each conference and the award winners (3 guesses per award).        That’s a good call on Porter. He’ll have a bigger role now that Pierce is gone and the Wiz want to play small ball (benching Nene). I also heard that Anderson are Dudley are injured to start the season, so it’s his spot to lose.

       Quite glad you joined this. Now at the end of the season we can see how wrong/right all your bold statements are. However, I’m not impressed with the lack of Smart choices. Thought you’d at least have him #1 for MIP and steals..

         Crap, you’re right about MIP. As far as steals, Smart gets half his steals by drawing offensive fouls, so I expect him to repeat as NBA Champion of Steals + offensive fouls drawn per 36 minutes. And probably cumulative and per game as well.

        That’s right, dude already led the league in forced turnover rate.

        With the same bad ankle sprain that ended Rubio’s season.

        I didn’t want to be a homer, so I guess I ignored Smart as far as MIP.

        Every expert and analytics formula has the Celtics winning 47-49 games. They can easily overachieve by 5 games and win a depleted East.

        They’re still weak at PG, not just depth-wise but with DRose.

      I wanted to drop them lower, but it’s hard to put another team in the East getting first. Probably should have been Chicago. But after that it can be anybody.

    “The Cleveland Cavaliers may have pulled their five-year, $80 million offer to Tristan Thompson after the deadline to sign his qualifying offer expired.

    The Cavaliers could have kept that offer on the table to Thompson, but were under no obligation to do so.

    “I heard it was Mark Termini doing the actual negotiating, and he has a reputation for taking a really hard stance in negotiations, but I think he seriously miscalculated this one,” reports Larry Coon. “Maybe he was thinking LeBron would be more of an influence on the team.””

     How RU Lookin’?

    Mine look like crap right now. I slept on Detroit, and while I was smart enough to have the Knicks in the playoffs, they might be a top 4-6 seed in the East. I also slept on Chicago, though their depth at PG is still an issue.

    I might have overreacted to Charlotte’s preseason success, but they lost a very tight game against Atlanta and should still be a solid team.

    Celtics are just 1-2 so far, with David Lee looking old and in the way in the starting lineup. Celtics had a couple tough losses against Toronto and San Antonio, but those are both top 5-10 teams in the league.

    Rockets are definitely making me look bad, since I picked them to be the best team in the West.
