McDunkinFormer Nets forward Sean Williams didn’t last very long in the Israeli league.
Sham Sports is reporting that Williams was released by Hapoel Jerusalem before he even played a game with the club.
Sam Clancy reportedly took the roster spot of Williams.

durantula83ParticipantThe pictures in the arcticle says it all. The guy to most likely join Keon Clark and Jayson Williams in prison.

ChrispyParticipantthat picture pretty much sums up everything Sean Williams has done as a ballplayer. In college he did next to nothing considering his athletic and defensive skills, but would drop a highlight here and there enough to keep people thinking, “hmmm….”. With the Nets, he looked like a steal toward the end of his rookie year, but… OH NO! Not those pesky little things. What do you call them? Oh, yeah. LAWS. Those always get in the way of a good time. And now released before playing a game. I don’t even want to know what happened. Oh, wait. Yes I do. I’m sure it is a classic.

He was released because of an ankle injury.

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantI was there when tli232 took that picture — against my will, mind you. He was (comment removed by the cyber police).

I’m talking about his destructive attitude, you don’t think he really got released for an ankle injury now do you? Then you’d be more ignorant than I already thought. Remember me when he gets locked up on some bullshit in a couple of years.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantGuys get released or have their contracts voided because of injuries all the time oversees. I have never claimed that Sean Williams is anything that he isn’t, but you jumped to a conclusion for why he was released and you were wrong. There is nothing more to this than the fact you made up a reason why he was cut.

durantula83ParticipantSean Williams is a gifted physical specimen. This guy could have had HUGE impact on the right team in Europe or Israel, he could be a dominating defensive and rebounding force in the paint. Alot of teams wanted to have Williams on their team in Europe, that’s a fact, almost nobody’s willing to give him a contract though because they know about his immaturity and lack of discipline. You’re right teams tend to cut an injured player faster but if the player would act professional and could be counted on then they would keep him. Williams’ problem is that his reputation proceeds him, so now he gets little to no credit at all anymore.
