Kleb2424ParticipantWhy is it that he’s not projected to get drafted? Sure he sstill needs development but he’s one of the best defenders eligible for the draft and has developed nicely while at Florida. Can anyone tell me why the NBA doesn’t seem interested?

imAboutDatActionParticipantcus he doesnt provide much upside due to his age, size, athletic ability and skill at this point.i personally dont think he’s NBA material.
he’s having a decent season,but for someone who has played for 4 years,not anything great. 133ppg , 2.8 boards, and 3.7 assists.
he’s 6’2 and not a true PG. averaging 3.7 assists this season. he cant be a 2 guard shooting 39 % from the field and 39% from 3 and doesnt have good size for the position.
sure he’s a good defender right now in college, but at 6’2 179 and not a great athlete, theres doubts in scouts minds he can guard NBA guards well enough to warrant a spot on the roster.
im sure he’ll play overseas, which is okay. not everybody is an NBA prospect.

RealDeal24ParticipantI would strongly disagree that being the reasons. Provide much? He is what makes the gators go. Their two losses were when he wasn’t playing and when he got hurt and came out and Napier hit a buzzer shot. He holds guys to 29% shooting. He has handles, can pass, play aggressive smart D, and most of all he always makes the right play. Florida is a very unselfish team so assists are spread out. He is the leader and one of the toughest players out there. He hits big shots down the stretch and makes clutch plays on d. If he has knocks it’s being a knucklehead and getting suspended from off season troubles two years in a row, his shooting percentage which is greatly improved, and he is a late bloomer. I think he has a chance for a late 2nd round pick if they have a big tourney run or an undrafted pickup, but I disagree with your reasoning.

imAboutDatActionParticipantyou dont know how to read bro?
i said doesnt provide much upside. he’s not a good shooter and isn’t a great passer, not someone who can run a NBA offense. doesnt have size for the 2 and once again, cant shoot. compared to NBA guards,he’s not a good athlete.
he’s already a senior and if you look at his stat line, its really not that good when putting his age and experience into context.
im aware on what he;’s doing for Florida, but for the NBA he doesnt offer much.

RealDeal24ParticipantI’m not sure where you got that he isn’t a good passer or true point cuz his scout report on scout says he is a true point and passing is one of his best skills. He also has a 3:1 assist/turnover ratio which isn’t bad. He also gets to the rim against some pretty athetic players with ease. I’m not saying he would be an all star in the nba but if people think Aaron Craft can make a team, I think Scottie can. The only difference is Craft started 3 years.

mplsrawkusParticipant3.7 assist to 1.8 turnovers a game isn’t 3to1 ratio. if passing is supposed to be one of his strenth he should average mor then 3.7 assist a game. i agree with imAboutDatAction. he’s not an NBA level point guard and neither is Craft. craft ain’t gonna be a shut down defender in the NBA….he’s too small. if a player is gonna make it in the NBA as a defensive specialist you gotta have size and length at your position. they list craft at 6’2" but theres no way….6 feet with shoes at best.

Kleb2424ParticipantI obviously came to the wrong place to ask this. I don’t need a scouting report on him. I already drew mine up. He is definitely NBA material. That wasn’t the question. His size is fine, he is athletic enough, his will and determination is there, and his defense shouldn’t be questioned at any level. If the pro scouts are really saying that then I could care less to ever read one of their scouting reports. They are absolutely far off on this one. Scotty can play in the league. That’s a definite, not a maybe. Oh yeah and can pass, don’t worry about a stat that’s manufactured by a system. He can pass.
