The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantI’ll say this none last time and Say It with Force and verve…”The Sixer’s are keeping Evan Turner Unless….The Wolves trade us the 4th, 16th and either the 23rd pick or Wayne Ellington…Sammy and Big Al can be included to that deal…But We Are Keeping Iguadola(for Now It Seems…) and we can’t and won’t Trade Brand…
We Are Not Giving up assets like the #2 pick,Thad,Iggy and Jrue just to unload Brand…We will keep offering the 2nd pick for 4th and 16th and will settle for for the 23rd or Ellington to boot…The sticking point for the Sixers should be a third player…either W.Ellington(for shooting purposes) or the 23rd pick has a plan B if they can’t get Henry,Babbit or George…That should be the deal that gets made…The Wolves get Turner…The Sixers get Cousins and 2 other young players…It could be Henry or Ellington at shooting guard…or we get Babbit or George to help out on the wings…Cousins as a potential Center after Dalembert expires is a good thing…We shouldn’t throw away the Expiring Deals to get any players that are not impact guys…Jefferson is not an impact guy…Not right Now at least…we have Speights and Brand for that matter…We can trade Dalembert and Young to the Clippers for the 8th pick if we want to dump a little cash and try to get another top ten pick…then we’d get Henry for sure and have Cousins,Henry and a shot at prospect or 2 with the 16th and 23rd pick or W.Ellington…We have a lot of holes to fill without the cap space and picks to get it done…The 2nd pick was a blessing…it gave us a lot of room for moves…we have 20 million in expiring deals…the 2nd pick and 3 young players with big upside and small contracts(M16,Thad,Jrue) Iggy is a very attractive trade chip(he almost got us Amare for god’s sake)
We could keep Turner and just Trade…
Thad Young and Sammy Dalembert to the Kings for the 5th pick(they need a Defensive presence and a Starting Small Forward)…or ….Thad and Sam to the Clippers for the 8th…(The same goes for the Clippers) Thad is cheap and Talented…Sammy is an expiring deal that can defend the paint for Griffen and Kaman…Win Win…right…
We get Cousins if the Kings do that Deal…We get a guy like Whiteside or George at 8…maybe Udoh or Aldrich…maybe Babbit or Patterson…Maybe Henry any way…And we try to trade Iggy too???…
Iggy to the Clippers for the 8th pick if we make the deal with the Kings first…
then we’d get Turner and the 5th and 8th picks..
.Not to mention the Cap room by dumping Iggy for a pick and Sammy and Thad for a pick…we get rid of 25 million like that….and get 2 top ten picks in place…Thing is we lose Iggy and Thad…but we still have Turner,Holiday,M16,Lou,Meeks, J.Smith and Brand…Not to mention Kapono and Green expiring deals(10 million or so)…the 2 additional picks can get us a Center and Small Forward to develop(Cousins and Babbit)…the Cap Room can make us a player for someone in free agency(not naming names…that’s a jinx)…This is the dream scenario maybe…but hey…..you guys weigh in…

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantThe Keep Turner Trade…They could offer both teams either deal IMO…And offer future first to sweeten the deal….
Trade 1…Thad and Dalembert for the Kings 5th pick…They lose out Cousins and get Thad and 12 million in expiring cash…not to mention a shot blocking center that would start in Sac Town…We get Cousins to run with Holiday,Turner and M16…
Trade 2…Iggy for the Clippers 8th pick(We may not have to make this deal)…They lose out on Aminu or George( Two huge Risks) we lose Iggy and that Contract and get Henry or Babbit before the Jazz,Pacers,Hornets,Grizzles, Raptors,Rockets,Bucks or Bulls…They won’t be there at 16th…for the Wolves…That’s why we Keep Turner..and Trade Iggy…We’d get 3 top ten picks and clear 25 million in cap space overnight…We’d become players in Free Agency…25 million in space with 3 top ten picks and a young Core of Holiday/Speights…10 million more in expiring cash in Kapono and Green to throw around at the deadline…Those two and 1 of the rookies can get a player to help out down the stretch…

xbadgerhustlerParticipantthey could do all that stuff you said, but this isn’t NBA 2K10. I don’t see them trading Dalembert and his expiring deal or Thad Young… Why would they trade Young for an unproven player when they already know Young can play?
The most likely trade pieces are #2, Brand or Iggy. #2 because MN loves Turner, Brand because Philly really wants to get rid of that contract, and same goes for Iggy, especially if they can get Turner for like 1/3 the cost to replace Iggy.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantFirst….Who say’s no thanks…I don’t want Iggy for the 8th pick…The Clippers GM would love Iggy…it beats having to max out Gay or JJ…All they lose is the Pick…We get a young player and cap space…
Second…. the Kings would be taking a risk with either Cousins/Monroe/Wes Johnson or Aminu at 5…They need a few things like 1.Point Guard( I’d give them Lou Will as a filler…5 million dollar Staring Point Guard or 6th man scorer…It saves us more Money..2. Starting Caliber SF.Thad Young for cheap, a hybrid forward with Range…and 3. A defensive stopper at the 5…Sammy for one year is pretty good…He’d start or at least be a guy you put in to defend the best offensive low post player…The Kings would still have some money for a guy like Tyrus Thomas for mid money 5 to 10 million…not saying give it all to him but you get the picture…they’d still have options…
Third…It can happen with Turner and Holiday being the foundation for the future…Speights and the Other Top Ten Picks I suggest we go for would be a nice core around The ET/Jrue duo , they compliment each other very well… Cousins or Monroe at 5 via the Kings and Babbit or Aminu at 8 via the Clippers would be great Moves by the Sixers…Especially when you look up and realized you’ve cleared over 25 million in cap Space…and can be a player in Free Agency…I think they could make a strong case to any one from Wade,Joe Johnson, Gay, Lee or Amare…All are wildcards…Just get the picks….And then then Get the cap room please…Build around Holiday/Turner/Speights…Cousins and Babbit??? 25 Million and See if Wade want’s to play next to the next Payton and G.Hill or Scottie Pippen…Turner would be the perfect 2nd option for a guy like Wade …Their Line up would be Great…
Holiday/Wade???/Turner/Speights/Cousins/Brand/Babbit/Meeks/J.Smith (MLE Signing)
And Kapono/Green(Expiring Deals) Future Picks for someone at the deadline in a salary dump…Maybe I’m being a Homer Today???

Lunchpail12ParticipantWhat players does Philly get? Sacramento doesn’t have any cap space to absorb the $14 million that Dalembert and Young are owed this year, so they’d have to send someone back. Nocioni and Udrih work money-wise, but they’ve both got 3 years left on their deals. Would Philly really give up the cap space they’d get from Dalembert’s expiring contract just to land the No. 5 pick?
Both proposed trades are big-money players for draft picks, but those don’t work — draft picks don’t count against matching salaries, and even if you trade after those picks sign, they still don’t make enough money to make the salaries match.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantKenny Thomas and K Martin give them over 2o million in cap for sure…The Sixers get Cousin with the 5th Pick…And they give up Thad Young,Lou Will and Sammy/…They need a PG/SF and C…They get all 3 and still have the money to reach out to a FA for 10 million plus…they have Tyreke and a young core…no need for rookie project…Get 3 starting caliber players for the 5th pick….The Sixers Dump Dalemberts Money…na d Lose two scorers for a franchise Center In Cousins…If He gets paired with Turner/Jrue/M16 and Iggy(not saying we have to trade Him…But if we did to the Clippers for Their 8th pick and D.Jordan we’d be 25 million in cap space richer…And Can Go After Wade/Johnson/Gay?Amare or the KING???
A Core a Turner( A mix of Grant Hill/Penny and Scottie) Holiday (A Payton type defender and scorer)
Speights (Best Case A Poor mans Amare Worst case 3rd big man on good team ) …Cousins( A young and talented Franchise C and Babbit a possible replacement to Thad…A 6th man type….That’s if we let go of Iggy,Thad,Lou Will and Dalembert for those 5th and 8th picks…Both the Kings and Clippers have the space and need to fill the void in their lineups and are not free agent destinations….The Clipps would not have to MAX guys like Gay and JJ when Iggy will give them the same for less with a better deal…And he’s unselfish and would be great with Griffen/Davis/Gordan and Kaman…The Kings are not players in FA either and would fill their roster and still be able to go 10 million or more for a guy like David Lee or Tyrus Thomas…or Carlos Boozer….It’s the biggest WIN WIN EVER…Both teams fill needs that the draft doesn’t fill and free agency can’t…We get 25 million…A brand new young core and Big Market to offer Wade or Lebron…We are in better shape than most other options not named The Bulls Maybe…Rose and Noah are the only thing besides money they can offer…Deng and Hinrich are always on the block and their picks are not impact players…they’d have to get a 2nd star via Deng/Hinrich and Picks…Does that really work in a real world??? Maybe…The Illuminati wants the Bulls, Heat or Knicks to win a ring….0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/15/2010 - 7:35am #332636

HotSnotParticipantIt seems the “new“ trend among rebuilding teams is to build through the draft via 3-4 consecutive terrible seasons on the court and then use the high loto picks on ungrading to high quality talent.
The Kings know they are rebuilding. No matter what trades the Kings make this offseason it is unlikely they will be a championship contender next season. Could the Kings make the playoffs if they make a few key trades and tap out most of their resources this this offseason…absolutely. By making the playoffs though, the kings start down the long road of mid to late draft picks every year while missing out on the cream of the crop near the top of the draft. I dont think they`re ready for this yet. All these dream trade scenarios are worth while in another season or 2. The kings have done an admirable job of cutting costs and acquiring young assets.
This strategy has varying degree`s of sucess. Boston in the 2007 offseason had acquired 3-4 drafts worth of young talent and traded almost half their roster to Min. for Garnett. Por. had 3 successive drafts of wheeling and dealing. OKC doesn`t deal much on draft day but they are always active via clever, opportune little trades over the course of the season. Min. has a ton of young assets and picks right now… as do the Griz. NJ has been extremely patient in waiting out all their dud contracts and acquiring young talent.
If the Kings start swinging for the fences this offseason it will be a huge mistake for their long term prospects. They need a few more high loto picks, well timed purposeful trades and then they can start spending their cap space on high priced talent while resigning their draftee`s over the last few seasons. Slow and steady wins the race to being a perennial playoff contender.
