GrandmamaParticipantThere were a few posters who recently talked about disliking watching the Spurs, that they are boring, etc etc. They couldn’t be more wrong about being boring, and must be blind (or Heat fans) if they don’t enjoy the way the Spurs run their offense.
Now, I’m not a Spurs fan one bit. But I will say this. Watching the Spurs on offense is a thing of beauty. Constant movement without the ball, the ball is always on the move. They really run their offense to perfection at times. It’s really something special, and I’ll admit I love watching them play. It’s so refreshing to watch their style as opposed to every other team in the league. They don’t have the monster dunks (aside from Leonard at times), they don’t throw alley-oops. They aren’t on all these highlight reels. They just play an unselfish, great brand of basketball. It’s too bad really no other teams play this way. Maybe these other coaches should try to take a page or two out of the Spurs book.

FutureNBAGMParticipantAs far as I’m concerned, they’re the epitome of great TEAM basketball. They play hard. They play as a team. They check their egos at the door. They’re extremely well coached. They’re professional. And, most importantly, they win! That’s Spurs basketball. And anyone who wants to call them boring is more than free to bow down and kiss the (soon-to-be) five rings.

220ParticipantSportscenter Syndrome is the reason people think the Spurs are boring. Sportscenter highlights tge outstanding individual plays, but tends to ignore great time play. The syndrome is prevalent in players and fans who’d prefer a guy to take his man off the dribble and dunk in his face rather than great ball movement that leads to the easy shot.
Most people have Sportscenter syndrome to some degree otherwise we’d all love the WNBA and their fundamental play.

ThenilonatorParticipantSo the sportscenter top 10 should consist of pick and rolls and lay ups? There is a reason people have sportscenter "syndrome" as you call it, and I guess I’m one of them, because I prefer to see guys get taken off the dribble and dunked on. This is one reason I want the spurs to get beat, because if every team attempted to play like the spurs (which of course they couldn’t and they do it so well) it may as well be the wnba!

BallinmvpParticipantThenilonator, your off based. Of course it’s nice to see dunks and crossovers but the game is far more than that. You might think that passing and breaking down a defense through team play over individual play is boring but basketball is a team sport and yes it’s superstar driven but watching great team play is just as exciting as watching a nice crossover or dunk to me. I’m a basketball junkie though.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantMost true followers of the game of basketball ,will never say they are boring..In fact the way the performed in Games 3 & 4 ,should be taught in Basketball Class 101..The reason why most people say they are boring, isnt becuz of how they play, its becuz of the player’s personalities…Even though Duncan is 1 of the greatests players of all time, people outside of basketball dont know him..It’ll be hard just trying to think of 3 commercials he’s done..Duncan’s personality can be the blame for most of it..

Forte IVParticipantThey’ve been fun to watch ever since they changed their offense and actually scored. The Spurs teams of old were boring because they were always play the clock and score low on offense while playing great defense.

SteezGawdParticipantTHIS Spurs team is not boring. They are offensive oriented, they want to run, they want to get the point total in the 100s. The Spurs of old, with David Robinson that won by playing defense, pounding you inside on every play and keeping the score in the 80s was boring. With their personnel changing they adapted and changed as well.
