    Remember this guy ?

He had a good NCAA tournament with Kaminsky. Drafted 18th overall ( I think most of us had him going a little higher ). Was injured last season.

He looks to be getting a few opportunities/minutes in Houston.

Who has seen him, how does look and fit in with the Rockets ?

He has been solid from what I have seen. I am fairly surprised he is getting more minutes than Corey Brewer this season. Dekker, Brewer and Ariza are somewhat redundant at the 3 so Dekker is forced into playing some 4 which probably suits him and the Rockets better anyway. They really like to shoot the 3 ball so playing him over Montrez makes sense to me behind Ryan Anderson.

Ariza’s contract is up after next season so I would think Sam has the potential to take over as the starting 3 although as I said he may actually be a better fit as an undersized 4. He needs to keep working on his body and throw on some Paul Milsap tapes but I feel like he is at least on track to having a good career judging off the limited action I have seen.

I can’t speak for how he looks in Houston, but I’ll never be a fan solely for the stepback dagger 3 he hit on UK in the Final 4 to ruin our perfect season

I lost all faith when he dribbled the ball off his face while he was falling over on a wide-open fast break layup.

Dekker is a good player, I’m not surprised he’s getting more minutes than Brewer. He’s not a eye-popping physical specimen, so his play can seem underwheleming. But he’s by no means a poor athlete, I’d say he’s easily above average.

He can put the ball on the floor, he’s high IQ and can shoot. He’s a stellar role player in today’s NBA, a slightly less good Otto Porter Jr. On this chaotic Houston offense, he’s steady and predictable presence is very much needed.
