So im hearing rumors about george karl wanting to acquire ty lawson. It seems like a good plan and target. The ownership there wants a high paced offense, karl likes that and so does lawson. I just dont know how much the nuggets will ask for. A swap in the 6th and 7th pick and stauskas? Or just the 6th pick? Anywho do you guys think lawson can be a good fit for the kings?

Collison had a pretty decent season when he was healthy for the Kings. Lawson is clearly a better playmaker and is a nightmare to keep out of the paint. He could work very well in this offense with Cousins inside and with the shooters and athletes they have on the wing. I think Collison would still be a good 6th man and is probably a better defender and shooter than Lawson. They could play together some but that would be a very undersized backcourt.

I think this would be a good move for Karl and the Kings if they don’t have to give up too much because I could see the Kings as maybe a 40 win team with Lawson at the point playing a more uptempo style. He would probably help McLemore get more open looks and help with his confidence and development as well which will play a big part in Sacramento’s future.

Very good point, I totally forgot about collison and I think that sixth man role suits him more if you want to be a playoff team

I think Lawson would be a great fit in GK offense, he’s already proven that. You have good wings that will run with him in Ben And Rudy.

Its been reported that Denver has offered Lawson straight up for the Kings’ 6th pick, but Divac has turned them down.
Keep in mind, GC has told Gay that he’ll play a lot of pf next year. With that said, they’ll need a defender on the wing that can guard SFs. With Winslow, Henzonja, and even Johnson projected to be available, I can see them preferring to stay at 6. I think Denver will have to give more than what the #6 is worth to entice Denver. I think if Mundaiy was to fall to 6, and being a player Denver would love to have (pairing him in backcourt w/ the undersized Harris), Denver will need to offer Lawson and Chandler to Sacramento to get them to bite.

If they are willing to trade their pick for a PG, they can get better than Lawson. Teague or Schreoder might be a possiblity the Hawks will have to trade one of them. Detroit has to trade either Jackson or Jennings. Jrue Holiday might be available based on rumors I have heard. All of those options would be better than Lawson.

      I agree.
As a Hawks fan, I think we should see what we can get for either pg.
As for Detroit, I’m sure they’ll be willing to get rid of Jennings for pennies on the dollar, in an effort to create more cap space. Sacramento will have space to take him outright if they renounce Derrick Williams.

and injuries a year ago are the only issue that kept Lawson from being a top 6-7 PG in the entire league. When Lawson is healthy and in the right offense he is a sure fire 16 ppg 7 assist guy that can defend a bit and run a club.

Ty Lawson is interesting, but Denver’s asking price is a little too high.

Think Divac is leaning towards Hezonja, but Winslow and Cauley-Stein are the other two names in play here.

    Mudiay doesn’t shoot well enough.

Ty Lawson is a pretty good point guard, borderline Top-10 but the guy is turning 28 next season and point guards at that size that rely on their quickness don’t age well. I’d rather have the pick.
