OneAndDoneParticipantReally nice to see this kid having success after being scrutinized and blamed for Kentucky’s failed season last year. As is usually the case, there was more to the story than him just playing awful. Now that he has transferred to Georgia St. to be closer to his sick father he is averaging 17.9 points and 4.5 assists while leading his team to a 10-0 conference record so far. Hopefully he can keep the Panthers playing well and finally make it to the big dance.

thatdude44ParticipantI always thought he was a decent player, I think the pressure of playing for a Coach like Cal got to him, but talent wise he isn’t bad. It’s good to see him get some burn and able to live out a dream…

TarHeelRavenParticipantCalipari was probably the worst coach that Harrow could’ve played for. Talk about a coach that can absolutely kill confidence. Not every player is cut out to play in Lexington. Nice to see Harrow get the heck out of a bad situation and having a good year.

machu46ParticipantI’m really hoping Georgia State wins their conference and ends up getting matched up with Kentucky in the first round of the tournament. That would be really awesome to watch.

CameronCrazy11ParticipantReally hoping Harrow and RJ Hunter can carry Georgia State into the tourney this year. Being from Indy, I’m very happy for coach Ron Hunter (formerly of IUPUI) and the program he has created down at Georgia State. Very happy for Harrow too that he found a coach who can bring out the best in him.

juves4783Participantnot sure why everyone is beating up coach cal. coach cal didn’t put the pressure on harrow. the kentucky teams from previous years and fan expectations put on the pressure. after the years of wall, knight, teague and those teams, kentucky fans had high expectations. i think harrow got the wrong end of the stick because coach cal had a very overrated incoming class.
in the end, harrow transferred to be closer to family because his father was ill. not because of coach cal or kentucky. kentucky would be much better with him because harrison is struggling to play pg.

FastAndFuriousParticipantYea cant really blame Cal for Harrows play, coaches at that level are very hard on their players, especially the pg’s add the fact that every last one of his pg’s were first round picks and you have alot of pressure on Harrow and Cal, Harrow knew what he was getting himself into and he just wasnt good enough to keep the tradition going.
But with that said its really not a shocker that Harrow is excelling at the mid-major level, dude used to be a top 5 pg in the nation in HS so he has always had the talent just had to find the right situation for him.
Far as his NBA prospect goes he has a year left which Im sure next year he’s really going to tear it up, but I still dont see him making the league unless he adds weight to his tiny frame thats going to be a huge red flag with him as he will had been in school for 5years and never got stronger on top of his age and other flaws.

Chilbert arenasParticipantWe tend to get mad at the people being overrated and not the people overrating them, like Macklemore he didn’t ask to win those Grammys, some idiots chose him over Kendrick wrongfully. Harrow was considered a lottery pick before the season started so we all overreacted as the season went on. Harrow was a victim of his own hoops mixtape.

justymlParticipantI’m a huge ryan harrow fan but the expectations for him were a bit overwhelming I mean this site had him being the number 1 PG taken in the draft before the season..I really love his game really quick, insane handles, good jumpshot, but at 6’0 165 you either have to be a freak athlete or have top tier pg skills

FastAndFuriousParticipantChilbert I agree but it didnt help either with Cal claiming Harrow outplayed Teague alot during that year he redshirted adding to the hype. Which I still dont believe that happened, I think it was said to boost Ryans stock.

juves4783Participantyou never know, it could of been true. marquis teague piggybacked on his namesake and that phenomenal team lead by mgk, terrence jones and davis. teague didn’t do anything mind-blowing in college. he didn’t shoot the ball very well and turned over the ball too much. i could easily see harrow outplaying teague.

FastAndFuriousParticipantYou must have forgot Marquis’s tournament run where he was looking very legit, I agree his year at UK was nothing close to what I thought it was going to be but then you have to remember he was the 5th option and he’s a scoring guard so his whole style changed, but he had some good games.
And Harrow "easily" outplaying Teague I doubt it, Teague is 35 pounds heavier, just as quick, taller, faster and alot tougher than Harrow. I seriously doubt it happened.

imAboutDatActionParticipantHarrow jus couldnt handle the pressure of playing for Kentucky. Cal will hold you to a high standard as a PG, and can you blame him? Look at the PG’s he’s coached in his career, all in the NBA right now.
Harrow was mentally and physically weak. he killed any draft aspirations he had last year with his play on the court and how he broke down mentally.
good to him playing well though. some people are made for the bright lights and some arent, thats jus how it is.

JNixonParticipantYeah Harrow wasnt comfortable at NC State or Kentucky, but he has the kind of talent, quickness and athleticism you need to excel in mid major ball. Its no surprise he’s doing that right now, I hope he can lead them to the tourament. He’s had it tough, so this would be a good way to rebound.
