NickWayne87ParticipantThe only guy who can consistently hold Kevin Durant under 30 pts

SmooveKRYPTParticipantI’m so tired of seeing games like this over the last 3 years where KD never gets in a rythm because Russ won’t give him the ball. It’s going to be the same story in the playoffs again…
This trade needs to happen in the offseason order for OKC to take that next step.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantThe thing about trading Westbrook is that you wont get a premier PG for him. I cant see LA giving up Paul, can’t see GS giving up Curry, or Portland letting Lillard go.. They wouldn’t want Williams from BK, Rondo, or Parker.
It you trade him for a package, you need a PG back that can do something and a center to make up for Perk. Who is gonna give you that?

For_Never_EverParticipantI don’t get why they wouldn’t want Rondo with all the shooter the Thunders have on the roster. Rondo got 18 assist tonight playing with a bunch of non factors.

3 No Biases 3ParticipantThanks for mentioning this…I think Westbrook should stay put imo but Rondo is playing without a shooting guard and an athletic big and he is still getting big assist numbers. Guy is an amazing passer and I think he would do well in a situation like OKC, his 3 pt shot is getting to where you have to pay attention to it as well..

SmooveKRYPTParticipantTy Lawson!!! KD and him used to play together, they could keep the exact same pace and fast break threat with him, and he gets to the rim just as much as Russ with that attacking style…also creates just as many FT opportunities. He can still give you points in the high teens consistently and he can put up more when needed to, but there would be no issue of who’s team it is and who should have the ball in their hands down the stretch. He’s also a better passer and takes care of the ball more (3-1 A/T ratio compared to 1.75-1)

NickWayne87ParticipantCuz i believe Russell is a first option type player……just not when you’re on a team with Kevin Durant…..KD was having a MVP season while Russ was away……I don’t think he’s gonna put up that kind of production again consistently the rest of the year……

RObin PadillaParticipantsurprised KD or even DFish didnt even get a chance to shoot in the last 2 minutes…. Westbrook is a beast but KD should be the one with the ball in those moments…

FastAndFuriousParticipantRuss is a NBA Superstar and has proven that he can be a first option on any team, but he does hold KD back a bit,but at the same time KD is ok with it or is scared to say something to Russ, because the same thing happens over and over, ppl keep complaining but its never going to change Russ is going to play his game simple as that.
But I will say OKC is still a very deadly team when KD and Russ are clicking 100%, and thats the reason why they are still together,I they are the best 1,2 punch in the NBA when things are going right.

Lotto StudParticipantHad the Thunder won this game today, this thread would not exist unless it were to highlight how Westbrook gave the team life in the end after that dunk in the lane.

NickWayne87ParticipantIf Russell had’ve shot a better percentage from the field than Kevin Durant regardless of the outcome of this game this thread would not exist……but all too often the box score reads Kevin scores more on less shots with a better percentage…..that’s the problem……

NickWayne87Participantwas sick tho….as I’ve said Russell is an awesome player and a first option talent….but everyone one not named LeBron James should defer to Kevin Durant and in alot of cases even he should……….

NickWayne87Participantis also right….Kevin and Russ are a dynamic one two punch….but I think the thunder would be EVEN BETTER with an elite pass first point guard…..someone who can still score elite but knows how to pick his spots…..someone like chris paul…..

313LOUDParticipantWestbrook is nice. It took me a while to understand what he means to the thunder and Durant. He is a top 10 player in the league…..at the least. You would get nothing close to that in return if you move him. What KD did while Westbrook was gone was great……..but that was January……not May or June. He is gonna need Westbrook in the playoffs…….having a dynamic 1-2 punch like that is going to be more complex and more tough to beat 4 games out of 7 than Durant and “a pass first point guard”………
