Seemed like he was everywhere last night. He had a triple double last night with 13 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds in…21 MINUTES!!! That is the quickest time anyone has recorded a triple double since 1955, which Jim Tucker did in 17 minutes.

When healthy, Russell Westbrook is argubly the best all around point guard in the NBA.  He brings an edge that no other point guard can bring on a nightly basis.  I just love him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow that’s really insane if you view it this way. Russ for sure is absolutely elite when healty and hopefully his defense will someday catch up with his offensive oubursts and will to be great.

The only player I really can imagine geting close to numbers like this Rondo. LeBron is a beast and if he really wants to he can get something like 35/15/15 or something but when Rondo is really on, he is a walking highlight reel.

Back in the days where the Knicks have been under Linsanity fever the Knicks played the Celtics in Boston and Rondo had 18pts / 17rebs & 20asts to beat the Knicks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnc9ez485vI

Other than that he had 29 / 13 / 18 in the playoffs against the Cavs in LeBrons last Cavs playoff run in 2010.

Funny thing is this site here has a small article about Rondos tripple doubles and they even rank the 3 worst ones. His 11 / 10 / 10 game (5-10 FG / 1-5 FT) is considered pretty bad there. lol http://krucialkutsblog.com/2013/01/15/rajon-rondo-and-27-years-of-triple-double-ephemera/

      Other crazy tripple doubles:

Wilt once had 22 PTS, 21 AST, and 25 REB. According to Mike Petraglia, “many NBA historians recall that as the best statistical game in league history, the only double-triple-double ever recorded.”

I love that Shaq triple double of 24 points, 28 rebounds, and 15 blocks.

The most unique triple double on this list has to be Manute Bol’s with 10 points, 19 boards, and 15 blocks.

Amazing stat is the most tripple doubles with blocks included:

      Hakeem: 12 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To have 12 games in your career is kind of a hard task to earn. Ibaka might have trouble reaching this without knowing how many he already has but anyway just absolutely crazy that Olajuwon had 12 games with double digit blocks and this in a triple double wrapping! wow

The most standout thing on this list is this:

      Most Triple-Doubles since 1985-’86

Jason Kidd: 118 (AVG 17.7 PTS, 12.2 AST, 11.5 REB)

Magic Johnson: 81 (AVG 22.7 PTS, 13.7 AST, 11.2 REB)

Fat Lever: 45 (AVG 19.2 PTS, 12.5 AST, 12.7 REB)

       Most Triple-Doubles by a Celtic

Larry Bird: 37 (AVG 24.8 PTS, 11.4 AST, 13.2 REB)

Rajon Rondo: 26 (AVG 17.2 PTS, 14.8 AST, 11.7 REB)

Antoine Walker: 13 (AVG 23.7 PTS, 11.1 AST, 12.5 REB)

I would really like to see this with more players who have let’s say got more than 10 triples over the whole career. Larry Birds scoring is pretty impressive. He has the best numbers across out of anyone on this short list and I would really like to know if LeBrons numbers are as impressive.

Jason Kidds 118 total are really insane. Imagine how many NBAlers really have one triple at the end of their careers and Kidd had 6.5 of them per season over 18 years! wow

Damn I kind of made fun of Fat Lever but this guy was incredible and I really never heard of him before. I just found a great piece of a game where he had a huge triple double playing the Bulls with young MJ, Pip, Oakley and Horace Grant in 88-89. He was really everywhere on the court.

      youtu.be/BgDPFlbd3no

He outrebounded 10 starting centers in the league for a couple of seasons. He barely was 6’3" in shoes. He also had a triple double 16 times one year where only Magic was better with 18.

His long distance game was truely a beauty. He faced MJ most of the time and basically never shot over MJ in a faceup. He just knew his rotation spots and went for catch and shoot or dish himself the ball to the finishers.

What a lost art this midrange / drive n dish game really is in todays NBA. This can be so effective if performed well that most of don’t defend midrange game very well today cause it is known to us all as the least efficient shot. The truth in my mind is that you can only manage to master beeing a midrange top player. The nice side effect is that you can control very well how the defense has to adjust to well played screen play that you can dish the ball a lot while looking for spot ups or driving to the basket after pump fakes.
