Do you think Russell could play like a Summer League MVP, after a couple years in the D-League or backing up Nick Young?

Related question: Did the Lakers’ marketing department make the right draft pick, considering Lakers fans are already booing Russell in Vegas?

Time to hire a crisis specialist. Is a Kardashian available for a showmance?

Now, at the moment, totalling all your various accounts, you are -3072 overall (on 1100 posts). Which would place you 2nd alltime in terms of negativity. However, you are really 3rd, actually, since the current #2 and #3 are the same person.

Though you both may soon face some serious competition: that dude whose name is a number totally blows you away in average negs per post.

Who is 1 and 2 on the list? I think I can guess one (a certain international poster…?) but we’ll see.

That guy with a number for a name is really weird. Has difficulty with English (not necessarily a problem) but trolls like crazy. Not even stuff that makes sense. I’ve tried not to neg him but its really hard.

So who is the #1 guy… The number name guy is wierd, the other day I tried to explain google translate to him and he asked me who google was… I just don’t know what that guy is thinking. I know he’s international but you’d think he’d get a little better English

At any rate, you’re correct, Choppy. Euro is both 2nd and 3rd on the list (-5859 combined). While 1st place is someone entirely unfamiliar to me: "DNYCE". Maybe you guys know who that is? Quite frankly, sounds more like a stock exchange than a person. Regardless, his/her/its neg number is absolutely insane, and will clearly never be broken (-24,343).

As far as "20110913", I have no clue what’s going on there, actually. And yeah, I saw that Google Translate thread, Zach. In fact, I even responded (in Russian). But the whole thing ended up being deleted, I think.

DNYCE was a Lakers fan troll. That was a fun troll though and was actually entertaining with the methods of trolling. Daily Sascha Vujacic for Lebron James trade threads.

I am always going follow Russell’s career closely as a 76ers fan, because I wanted the kid on my team as early as last November(Before he was a Top 3 Lock)

I was very shocked and frustrated the Lakers took him 2nd overall…

I could jump on the hatewagon and prop up Jahlil Okafor after he’s had a few solid SUMMER LEAGUE games, But I will not feed into this troll bait post…

Russell has every opportunity in the world to be a very successful player in the league, the same goes for any 18-19 year old rookie, do I think Okafor or Mudiay will be better players than him down the road? Maybe, maybe not…

I still value his outside shooting and creativity off the dribble, and he can make a few assist a game as well, he was never going to be an elite defender or an above the rim highlight reel, I don’t get what you’re so upset about after a few summer league games…

If it’s any consolation prize to you, I was totally against the thought that Curry could be a star, same goes for Damian Lillard and Paul George, I saw them as role players at best, and had I written them off completely after a few games I would feel even worse for missing the mark on my expectations of a 18-19 year old prospect…

Give the kid a chance, he could still become a Steph Curry, Dame Lillard or Manu Ginoboli in 3 years, even if it takes him 7 years to become Chancey Billups, let him grow into the player he’s meant to be, in 8 years let talk about who was a bust from this Draft Class

I must be near the top of the Negative Points list and I am one of most astute basketball minds here!

Is it a fact that they are booing D’Angelo Russell in summer league? If so, that is an ominous sign.

Nobody was booing Russell, they were however booing the Lakers squad.  This is just arambonerexdoubt doing what he does best, trolling.

How have your boys Andrew Harrison and Dakari Johnson been doing in summer league… really filling it up by the looks of it…

You are routinely wrong more than you are right, for that reason alone I know Russell still has a shot to be great… if arambone hates him he must be good.

Denial is not just a form of defense Russell is unfamiliar with.

     Dakari is rebounding fairly well.

Andrew Harrison looks about as slow and unathletic as D’Angelo Russell.  I was wrong about Andrew, so far.  I thought he would be serviceable at point guard.  Looks like he is headed to the D League (at best).

Nobody yet has really looked off the charts, but I haven’t been watching much.

I thought Okafor should have gone first, or, at the very least, second.  Then I had Towns at the other pick.  Can’t remember if I liked Russell or Mudiay more.

Also, it’s about value.  If Dakari puts up similar rebounding numbers to Towns and Towns is picked at 1 and Dakari is at 44 then obviously you would say that Dakari has more rebounding value.  Same with Andrew Harrison vs. D’Angelo Russell.  Harrison was picked much lower so he has more relative value if their on court production is similar.

I was thinking the Grizzlies would roll out more 3 guard lineups in summer league with Harrison at point, and Russ Smith and Jordan Adams at the other 2 guard spots.  That obviously didn’t happen.  Russ did well, but Jordan Adams didn’t really shoot that well.

On the flip side, my Julius Randle Value Play aka Jarnell Stokes posted decent numbers in the back half of the summer league games for our summer league championship team.  He is short and not that long, but he is strong with a low center of gravity.  Whispers on our board about him playing some center.

Production wise: so far, it’s a wash between Randle and Stokes.  Randle can throw it down though, and Stokes looks like a slow jumper.  BUT, if production is fairly equal, then you would say that the guy from the second round gives you more value (Stokes).

I didn’t really have a bunch of favorites at the top of the board in this draft.  I did like Kaminsky, and he sounds like he will be ok.

For the Grizzlies, I think I wanted to get a couple of guys: not only Andrew Harrison but also Dakari Johnson.  I think Dakari would have provided good center depth for us.  We signed Brandan Wright, but lost Koufos.  Wright is good, but has less size than Big Kosta.

I liked Pat Connaughton.  Supposedly he is doing ok.  Can’t remember what I thought about RJ Hunter.

Aaron Harrison outplayed Russell, and arguably Andrew as well. Dakari looking like obvious value as a mid-second rounder.

There’s still a limited role for Okafor sized heffers in the NBA, but you can get them in the second round like with Dakari.

If Russell played like this while being a 2nd rounder or undrafted like Aaron Harrison, he wouldn’t be getting a two year contract like Aaron just got.
