ag-pennypackerParticipantWhat does everyone think are some realistic projections for Rudy Gobert for the upcoming season? Minutes, points, rebounds, blocks, and percentages. He looked good in summer league and it seems like he should be taking some more minutes from Kanter this season.

trelos6ParticipantIf he gets some opportunities,
20 mpg, 10 ppg, 8 rpg, 2 bpg, 49% from the floor. Not to sure about FT%, maybe .500

GStatesince88ParticipantThis kid is huge. He has good footwork, a wide and long frame, and a good athleticism for his size. Solid fundamentals on offense and defense. He is the only 7 footer on the roster aswell.
Stats: 22-27 minutes, 7.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, 60% fg, 60% ft

Captain LParticipantI think Gobert’s minutes will depend on how Kanter plays, Kanter has had some minor knee surgery this summer and so how well he recovers or responds to that could contribute to Gobert’s minutes and productivity. Another point that could affect Gobert’s minutes is coach Snyders style, it is supposed to be up tempo , spread the floor, pass and share the ball emphasis, they could use stretch 4’s alot and can or will Kanter prove he can shoot the 3, I think he will but it is still a question. I just listened to Lindsey and he stated that Snyder may even use Hayward some at the 4, Hayward supposedly has put some muscle on and looks bigger and stronger.
I’d say Gobert will get more minutes than last year but I don’t see him getting more than 15 minutes per game, I hope I’m wrong and he earns 20 plus minutes per game, that would mean he has gotten even stronger and better than what we say at summer league. Gobert can be a difference maker the way he can effect how the game is played with his defense and rim protecting ability. He needs to get stronger and shoot free throws better but he is improving.

Kinguy11ParticipantI’m a little more pessimistic than the guys above me, but I don’t think Gobert will live up to the expectations that those statlines put on him.
12-16 mpg, 6 ppg, 7 rpg, 1.5 bpg, just under 50% FG%.

JoeWolf1I’d guess he could get about 15 minutes per game next season. In that kind of role, I think he’ll put up 3.5 ppg 5 rpg and about a 1.2 bpg.
In the 9 games he talled over 15 minutes (20.8 mpg average) he averaged 4.2 ppg 7.6 rpg and 1.55 blocks per contest.
The kid can definitely rebound and block shots in the league, but his offense is a ways away. He looked really improved during Summer League, but I don’t expect a major breakout season for him as Favors and Kanter are still quite a bit better. I don’t know what Utah’s starters will look like, but I’d imagine Kanter, Favors, and Booker will be the top 3 bigs, but I think he’ll be the 4th big man for the Jazz and see a larger role than last season.

HitsterParticipantI hope he gets at least 15 mpg this season but a lot depends on the Kanter – Favours issue – can they play together on defence or not. But with Marvin Williams having moved on, indirectly it maybe frees up more playing time for Gobert.
He was drafted far too low in my opinion last year and could well turn out to be a great stral for Utah.
When you look at Utah’s young core of Burke, Burks, Exum, Hood, Kanter, Favours and Gobert – there is a load of upside and developing young talent there.

pe3ucTopParticipantTwo big questions are if he can stay healthy and if he can improve on his FT shooting. Those two will determine whether or not he’s going to get a lot of minutes.
I personally love his game and his hustle. I think he can definitely be an impact player off the bench this coming season. In summer league he looked like a man among boys. The lack of good centers had something to do with it probably, but still it seems like he’s made huge progress from the same time last year. His defensive presence is amazing and if he made some improvements to his offensive game I think he can get 15-20 minutes a game.
At 20mpg, I think his realistic projections are 8ppg, 8rpg, 2bpg

TheLastWordParticipantThe Jazz would like to have a 3 headed monster of Favors-Kanter-Gobert going forward. However salary requirements of all their young guys could make them give up that plan. Hayward’s contract hurt, and we might see them dealing Kanter if he can’t be extended for a reasonable amount this summer.
