We all realize that Rubio will never go to the Knicks without other teams involvement, they just don’t have the type of talent the Wolves covet. What are some possible trade scenarios that you could possibly see happening with him and the trade crazy Timberwolves?
Here’s my possible scenario:
–Knicks get Rubio and Steve Blake $7.5M contracts in / $8M contracts out
–Blazers get re-signed David Lee (4-5 yrs @ $30-40M), Ronny Turiaf, Anthony Morrow, and Kelena Azubukie – $15.75M contracts in / $15.5M contracts out
–Wolves get re-signed LaMarcus Aldridge (4-5 yrs @ $44-55M but still making $6M this year), Anthony Randolph, and Monta Ellis $21M contracts in / $23.3M contracts out
–Suns get Al Jefferson and Jerryd Bayless $14M contracts in / $16.3M contracts out
–Warriors get Amare Stoudemire and Travis Outlaw $19M contracts in / $19M contracts out-The Knicks get a future stud PG and hopeful free agent “wooer” in Ricky Rubio and an expiring contract next year in Steve Blake for David Lee.
-The Blazers get their elite rebounding, starting caliber PF in Lee, two huge defensive upgrades in Azubukie and Turiaf, and what looks to be a pretty decent prospect in Morrow for Aldridge, Bayless, and Steve Blake. Aldridge looks to want a big pay day next offseason, something I’m sure Paul Allen is fine with, but they get Lee, who is much better rebounder, but less of a versatile threat than Aldridge for a $3-4M discount per season. It’s been written that the Blazers have also been less than satisfied with Bayless and that he was being shopped. It only seems right that he’s included in this trade for veteran help.
-The Wolves hopefully finish their young, future, starting 5 with this trade, as long as they feel comfortable with Aldridge as their C in their new look fast break offense. I also thought about Beidrins in this trade too, but the Wolves would have to include some of their expiring contracts and probably take out Randolph or Ellis from this trade. They lose Rubio and Jefferson, but get three very young, dynamic players in Ellis, Randolph, and Aldridge.
-The Suns get a younger All Star caliber PF in Jefferson and a former lottery pick in Bayless for Stoudemire. A toned down version of the former rumor involving Stoudemire and Jefferson from before the draft.
-The Warriors get their guy in Stoudemire, and lose a huge contractual commitment and possible problematic player in Ellis, but also lose two young prospects in Randolph and Morrow, and two defensive veterans in Azubukie and Turiaf, but also gain a solid, young SF in Outlaw. Remember after this trade they still have Curry, Jax, Maggette, Stoudemire, and Beidrins, not a bad starting 5, but they definitely lose depth with this trade.0 - Posted on: Mon, 08/17/2009 - 6:05pm #202057
QHaynes20it just got unrealistic when Anthony Randolph was in a deal…that will not happen

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantThat would be the biggest trade ever. I didn’t realize you could throw around current and future stars like that.

Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipanti’m tired of hearing about rubio, didn’t think he was the best point guard in the draft anyway, when he finally comes whenever, other guards will have passed him by and he will still be hype.
