After tearing his acl late last season, Ricky Rubio worked hard to rehab and get back to playing the game he loves. He came back around the time you would expect someone to return from acl surgey, buthe was not the same player from last year, not even close. Through 15 games he was shooting only 23% from the field and looked tentative and scared. There was flashes of his former self, but thats all it was, just flashes. Now he finally looks to have shook off the rust and tentative mindset and he is back to the Ricky we saw last year.

    Last 10 games:
    13.1 ppg
    8.6 apg
    3.2 rpg
    2.4 spg
    42% from the field
    33% from 3

This is while missing most of the team. He looks like the Rubio of old and hopefully he continues to improves.

You should have cherry-picked and done his last 5 games instead of 10.

Edit: Jk I see why you picked 10.

His shooting is still his weakness, but if teams sag off him, he can still find an open man. 500+ shots per day this summer (and for the rest of his carreer) will put him on track to be one of the best PG in the league.

Im happy to see that he is starting to be more agressive and finsh at the basket. He was so bad at finishing his layups when he came back, he still needs to improve but his confidence is returning. I wish he realized Burks was behind him at the end of the game last night, all he needrd to do was us the rim to protect his shot…….oh well. Also his shot didn’t look as flat last night, thats a plus. And his defense was primo

Last five games Rubio has averaged: 15ppg, 9.2 apg, and 2.6 spg
In the same span D. Williams has averaged: 16 and 9
Not bad at all for a couple of second year players. These two seem to have nice chemisty

I’m glad someone mentioned Derrick Williams, he’s also been on a decent run the last couple games, when Rubio is on the floor those two have a great connection. He still needs to work on his scoring efficiency but given playing time he has proved time and again he will produce and play with a lot of energy. Career best 16 rebounds last night, not to mention he really attacks the basket and gets to the line regularly.

But outside of the improved play of Rubio and Williams, there is really no other reason to be happy in MN, they have gone 3-16 in their last 19 games. At this rate they could end up pretty high in the lottery..

Yeah agreed still gotta consider that Rubio hasn’t been in a full training camp with the team. Baring injuries the future looks pretty good in Minnesota.
