Royce White has made changes. He’s more cautious with who he hangs out with. He’s careful with the situations he puts himself in. He doesn’t want a repeat of the last year, when he twice ran into trouble with the law. For more ISU sports, see GoCyclones.

“Most of it was me being in the wrong place at the wrong time,” White said. “I think going forward that’s what I mean (when I talk about) precautionary decision making. (It’s) making sure you are in the right places, in low-risk places where things can’t happen that aren’t supposed to happen.”

White believes Iowa State is the perfect spot for him to prove he’s changed. White, one of the top high school basketball players in the 2009 class, officially signed with the Cyclones Monday.

“All together it was a great move for me,” White said. “I’m hoping to prove it was a great move for Iowa State as well.”

Was it the wrong time & place when Royce White was arrested for shop lifting/assault at Macys in MOA? Or how about when he walked off with a lap top from another students dorm room on the Uof M campus?

He arrived at the University of Minnesota telling everyone that he was “one and done”. Not much humility with the young fella. Hopefully Fred Hoiberg can have a positive influence on him… otherwise he’s apt to become another statistic.
