I know that it is only 2 games but Derrick Rose has suddenly started shooting from downtown. He went 4-6 yesterday and is 2-7 so far in the 4th. He had not put up more than 2 attempts in any game this season. He seems to be constantly evolving his game at a rapid pace. He went from being a passive PG last year to an aggresive combo guard this year taking over games for the Bulls. How dangerous can he get if opposing teams have to start playing him close to respect his shot and risk getting blown by off the dribble?

Why is he starting to shoot from downtown all of a sudden?

Maybe its because hes coming back from a wrist injury and he is scared oof landing on it again…or maybe its because he is just consistently left open from behind the line…those threes are wide open, wide , wide open…Teams are forcing him to shoot that and he is making a good ammount of them….He looks like he can be an absolutely incredible player soon because he is adding to his game quickly

Good point about the wrist injury. Hell that could turn out to be a blessing in disguise for him if he can consistently knock that shot down with confidence.

And I watched the game, he is still attacking the rim.

he’s been drillin from midrange out to 20 feet…..that’s good enough for me…..I don’t want him shooting 7 threes a game….just enough to give him like 1/2 an inch and he’s gone….

his 3 point shooting improved a lot but he still far awayof stephen curry. he is like rondo his 3 pointer improvent a lot to last season. but both will not be a top 10 shooter. but they have not to be goog like curry because they are too fast and can read the game perfecly.

    D. Rose is a much better shooter then Rondo is … like we’ve been seeing, he’s knocking down the occasional 3 now, has been steadily improving his mid-range game and is now actually a reliable weapon of his, and a far superior free throw shooter! D. Rose’s game is coming along tremendously, offensively he’s a force to be reckoned with … if he can make some strides defensively now, then we’re really talking about one of the top players in the league at his position and that’s if you don’t already think he’s there

    1st year- ROY
    2nd year- All-Star
    3rd year- All-Star Starter
    4th year- MVP Candidate

All Derrick needs is for the Bulls to fire Vinny and sign somebody for him to dish to this offseason….Wade, Bosh, Amare in that order…..If I was worrying about how somebody’s game is going to develop, Rose would be near the bottom of my list of all NBA players…..one reason he was such an outstanding prospect is that although his shooting stats weren’t good, his technique is good and it won’t take much coaching to get it on track….unlike Rondo who’s jumper is uglier than Rocky Dennis….

lot of guys who arent three point shooters start to hit them for a stretch. if im not mistaken rondo did the same thing not to long ago. im sure westbrook has as a well and other young guards. hes not sure a bad shooter where he cant go a couple of games hitting threes. as far as his scoring he has to step up and score more since ben gordan and his 20ppg is gone

He has been stepping up his scoring every month as the season has gone on. 23.5pts since the all-star break.

I know Rondo is your boy Quincey but Rose is getting better at an absurdly quick rate.

and yeah i know rondo is a better overall pg because he brings more to the table in different catagories but i dont go over board liek alot of people on here… have a couple games and a player now is that much better. i remember when frye was hitting threes and some on here thought he was so much better then hes ever been even though he was doing the same thing his rookie year as far as scoring. more people seemed to be convinced ver a short period of time rather then a long period of time on here.

will be THE BEST pg in the league in 2 years….better than Paul, better than Williams, better than Rondo……he has a weak squad right now while all of those other guys have something to work with…..free agent market next year = turning point for Rose…..

I am not just talking about numbers though. He is the clear leader of the team at 21. He is starting to knock down his jumper out to 20ft with ease already. And now he is starting to take it back to 23ft. The defense will come, then all of these Rondo and Westbrook comparisons will be over.

And I am not saying that Rose is going to lead the league in 3pt shooting but he is starting to show that he CAN knock it down from out there. That will give defenses more to respect about his game.

And another thing…damnit!…Rondo may bring more to the table as a PG but Rose brings more to the table as a player in his ability to play both guard postions.

You got me going Quincey! Lol

im still taking williams and rose over him. both are better at getting peopel the ball in scoring position and defense as well as shooting. im sure everyone has there opinion and mine is he will be behind westbrook. i remember lats year people said ” well look how rose is winning and leading his team and that makes him better then westbrook because there team isnt that good and hes putting up good numbers on a bad team”…now that okc is winning those same peopel went against the same argument that they used. i still say westbrook will be a top 3 guard since his defense is very good and hes still learning the pg position and just like rose his shot will get better and he’s a threat for a triple double. on here i notice most peopel will always go wit the guy scoring the most points and thats how they determine whos better. whats weird is the same people say what makes lebron so great is that hes a overall good player( points, rebound, ast, defense) but ignore that when talking about westbrook or rondo. a lil hypocritical

westbrook brings more to the table with his ability to play pg/sg as well. plus gets a triple double and can play defense and score 30 if he is asked to and 10 or more ast at any given time while being in year 2 of ever playing the pg position which means hes still wayy off from his potential at that position

Your opening sentence said that you are still taking Williams and Rose over him….I am glad you agree with me.

    This arguement is now over.

he couldn’t have been luckier on what team he was put on…..I’m curious as to what he will do when he has no players around him in 2 years…..serviceable at best…..I do agree that he is a winner and I love how he defends and rebounds….but lets be honest, he is not in the same league as Rose…..nobody can say that with a straight face…..

ment paul. amd imnot argueing. just stating my opinion on whos the better player. the fact that you said rose can play 2 position makes my point about westbrook since he can do more things on both side of the ball while still being a baby at the position. in my opnion he has more upside then all of them

ive seen what rondo can do when he has to lead the team( last years plays against rose) so yeah i can say with a straight face that he’s better. and the lucky arguement has no weight. thats liek me saying rose scores all his points because he gets more chances to shoot the ball more. as a scout i find that kinda funny since scouts are suppossed to be objective and not put a players game down to uplift another players skill because of cercumstances. exactly what service do you work with by the way because im pretty familair with many of them after meeting most of them in vegas while they interviewed me and my brother about my nephew
