Im a huge fan of both of these guys….However, i really can’t decide who i think is a better player

If i had to pick i guess i would take Durant because of how much of a mismatch he will cause in the NBA…I honestly beleive he will be a top 5 scorer in the history of the NBA, and the 2nd best player of our generation after Lebron

However, at the same time i think Rose has the potential to be the best point guard to ever play in the NBA

    What are ur guys thoughts?

i like how you have enough balls to predict this stuff. I agree on Rose potential to be the greatest

as for K.D. top 5 scorer all time?

hmmmm. possible……but i have to put McGrady , A.I. , Jordan, Kobe, and Wilt right up there for my top 5 LeBron will be there soon

as for the question id take either one………..can’t choose

Durant is great, but “Durants” come out every 4-5 years (Durant being ahead of the pack, but still common)

I think a player, especially a point guard with the potential and physical gifts of derrick rose is much more rare(though, as of late it has seem common with westbrook, wall, etc)…once he gets a solid consistent jump shot, he can start to enter those “greatest” discussions

Not sure how much sense that made..but you get the idea

      http://www.nba.com/playerfile/jason_kidd/career_stats.html

I see Kidd as a 27 percent 3 point shooter his rookie year…If that led rookies then thats more indicative of a weak rookie shooting class then Kidd being a good three point shooter… Kidd may be ahead of Rose in terms of Court Vision but Rose as rookie was much better Defender and Athelete

As for Durants coming along every 4-5 years, i think that under-rating durant….Durant is 20 years old!!!! and finished top 5 in scoring…he has the skills to become a lock down defender….his jump shot is excellent and he is a natural leader…to me the only question is whether he is motivated enough to put on enough muscle to become a legit NBA player and not get pushed around in the post…Players like him do not come around every 4-5 years

I really believe we are witnessing two all time players in the beginning of their careers

Also, being an all time-player is based heavily on who your teamates are….

Right now, Durant is way ahead of Rose in that aspect, he has a future star in Westbrook and a borderline all star in Green

Depending on how u look at it, Durant is better because his better cast will make him better or Rose is better because he can do more with less around him

I HAVE TO PICK ROSE….DURANT IS GREAT..BUT DOES NOTHING TO MAKE HIS TEAMMATES BETTER…..

I am not sure how many 6’10 scorers come arounda as often as Durant. He is a very unique player, scorers come around every few years but “Durants” do not.

Derrick Rose is a great player with all of the tools to be an all time great.. but kevin durant is just too sick.. i mean for a 20 year old to be top 5 scorer in the league is just disgusting.. and the leap he took from his rook to sophomore campaign cant be overlooked.. this kid is gonna be huge. so is rose. but durant’s team is gonna have more success. because of him and his Supporting Cast

I see too much love for Rose..All-time best PG? really? Do you guys realize that CP3 is only player after Mr.Magic Johnson to avg 20+10+4+2 two straight years, and even almost 23+11+6+3 this year!! and he still isn’t in all-time best talks, then how amazing Rose shoiuld becime to be all-time best??? I see him as a multiple allstar, superstar, but i don’t see him as a 30ppg10apg5rpg2spg player, or smthg like this..

Derrick Rose, he has some of the best physical talents and potential ever in the NBA’s history. Never has anyone had his size, speed and athleticism at PG. He has a chance to revolutuionize the PG position. I would take Derrick Rose over about just about every player (except Lebron, Dwight Howard and maybe Chris Paul) in the NBA if I had to do start a team from scratch.

i think both will be very good, i see both in the HOF, but i think durant will get more credit when it’s all said and dont. Right now, i think we all believe with another one or two good lottery picks, the thunder are a playoff team, and possibly contenders when they add a better bench. so in four years in the thunder are contenders, durant will get the credit for leading that team, and turning a young, franklly a bad team when he came, into contenders, and that will get more credit than just leading a playoff team for a while, unless they add a very good big and a few more complemtary pieces, i don’t see chicago contending as well as the thunder COULD in four years. as for the question, it’s hard to tell, different size, position, and role as a player, but either could end up being a greatest of all time, but i see two pretty equal hall of famers, but whoever has more titles wins i think. right now i give the edge to durant, but point guards always get more credit as leaders, so who knows.

yeah all time greats might be a bit crazy but i see the ceiling for these guys being ridiculous.. i think it will come down to who wins more championships (MVPs and whatnot, All star games)

its much much too early to tell they both have great potential rose with the ability to win championships and durant with the ability to lead the league in scoring each year but honestly judging on those two things which one would you rather have on your team? id have to say rose

There are more great pgs out there. Durant is more important to his team. Most of the recent championship teams do not have traditionally great pass first pg, but all have a great scorer. And Rose will never be a comparable scorer to Durant.
