Aight if your a Bulls fan, I need you to speak up.  I was wondering what your reaction would be if a trade was proposed of Rose for LBJ.  Would you be interested as a Bulls fan, especially given Rose being a Chicago native and and already being an icon for Chicago basketball?  Im not in any way shape or form implying this trade would ever happen or even the hypotheticals.  This is not a suggestion of a trade or a DYNCE fantasy type situation.  Im just interested in knowing how much D-Rose means to Bulls fans.  Is he your Fonz?

but I wouldn’t do it. Rose is extremely humble and doesn’t like to talk about his accomplishments, while Lebron is more arrogant. Also Lebron, I think would destroy the chemestry of team, theres a reason why rose wasn’t hyped about trying to bring Lebron to the bulls. On the other hand I think d rose to the heat would be a great team since they really need a good pg, and he would fit in well with d wade and bosh(still would need to get a bench though). This is not to bash lebron, its just look at the heat now, they virtually have no playbook.

Its not as much a would you or wouldn’t you do scenario.  Put yourself in the shoes of a fan.  You have no choice.  This is your reaction to it going down.  Would you be ok with it, or upset because of all Rose means to Chicago and the Bulls organization.

Me personally I would be upset, because of all he means to the bulls, but At the same time it wont be that bad since Lebron is a superstar,  love em or hate em everyone would want him on their team

 I’m not necessarily a Bulls fan but they are my 4th favorite team (after the Jazz, Thunder and Clippers). I would not like this trade at all. If this trade were to go down I would probably start hating the Bulls like I did when they played the Jazz in the 99-’00 finals. 

No offense to Lebron, but I really don’t like Lebron. He may be good and all, but that doesn’t mean I have to like him. (his attitude and they way parades around himself like some prima-donna wards me off) D-rose, Kevin Durant, Blake Griffen are my favorite players in the NBA today. I don’t want my favorite player being traded for a player I absolutely hate.

Not quite sure what it would do to Chicago since I do not live there and nor are they my ultimate favorite team. But I don’t think it would be positive either.

As much as this will sicken people to read who aren’t from here, this city is in love with this kid. The midwest is blue collar and Rose defines that. He just works his ass off and stays humble. The city has a personal connection with him since he is from here and has been in the news since 8th grade, it’s kind of like a friend of yours who made it and you root for him with pride. Everywhere you go you hear people talking about him like they know him and try to out do each other with knowledge of him…it’s funny.

If I were the Bulls, I would NEVER do this trade.

You know why?

Being a star player is one thing but being something more than that, like how Rose is, being humble and not taking everything for granted, his love for the city and determination to bring a championship there as opposed to LBJ promising a ring and dipping Cleveland for "greener pastures." It says a lot about Rose and his upbringing and he handling everything with class. That kind of characters defines an organization as a whole, and lets not forget, at the end of the day the NBA is a business and you’d want someone like Rose to represent your organization well.

I will say this though….LeBron DID give Cleveland 7 seasons. It really isn’t fair to use that argument with him and Rose because we don’t know if Rose will want to leave down the line. It doesn’t seem like he would now but you just never know.

 If you take out the whole hometown boy out of the equation, LeBron is the much better player, he can do anything Rose can do but better, if Lebron hadnt switched teams and became public enemy number 1, im not going to speak for you guys, but I have a feeling there would be alot more love on here for the chosen one, btw I hate LeBron, but hes still the best player in the league and will be for the forseeable future.

Im a huge bulls fan and a huge Rose fan (if you hadnt noticed by my username haha) so my opinion may be a little tinted but I would definitely take Rose. Maybe it is because I live in this city but there is just something about him that separates him from everyone else. Also, I think it is a lot easier to build around Rose than it is to build around Lebron.

Part of that D-Rose1, is that IMO PGs are just simply more fit to be built around.  If your PG is your best player, than your best player is the guy in charge of facilitating the offense and ball control for the most part.  Having a SF whose job is to be the leader of the offense creates a small problem in that your PG then has to be a player who plays off the ball and can knock down open Js.  It takes away from having that quick, penetrating PG who can facilitate the offense. 

IMO, LBJ should be used like Magic was, as the PG.  Then you can add a SG/SF/PF/C around him.  The best PGs tend to need the ball in their hands to be the most effective.  Give LBJ those duties and then add pieces around him, not including a shorter 6 foot type player who can shoot but feels out of place not being the playmaker of the team.

Lebron was a PG whenhe came into the league then he bulked up to a SF. Imo he is a PG in a freakish Forward body, he has PG skills, great court sense, excellent quicness, vision and he isnt really the guy who closes games. Id have him play PGand possibly slim out…His role needs tobe defined.

Especially closing games in crunch time.

 

Maybe this thread should havebeen about Wade forose since they are both hometown boys.

LeBron and Wade in Chicago made TOO MUCH SENSE.

Lebron, Wade, Rose, and Noah would be the perfect Big Four.  I even heard before the season started that they could have gotten Chris Bosh too.  Even if they didn’t have enough for Bosh or Boozer a lineup of Rose and Wade in the back court, with LeBron, Noah, and Taj Gibson up front would have been incredible.  A bench of Kurt Thomas, Omer Asik, CJ Watson, and Keith Bogans would have been servicable.  I am assuming they couldn’t afford to keep Ronnie Brewer and Kyle Korver.  They could probably get a cheap shooter or two and another big man.  THAT team would be a DYNASTY.  Gibson and Thomas would give the Bulls a good portion of Boozer’s production at a FRACTION of the cost.  Gibson could probably give them 8-10 points as a starter, and Thomas could chip in 5 or 6 points off the bench.  So they could combine for 13 to 16 points a game.  I think they could combine for around 9 or 10 rebounds too.  D-Rose would have a field day creating shots and scoring opportunities for Wade and James.  Can you imagine Rose and LeBron in a pick and roll with Noah underneath, Wade on the weakside, and Bogans (or D League 3 point champ) camped out for a three?  That would be fun to watch.

 No, I would be opposed to this trade Lebron is older and has 8 years of wear on his legs.  Rose is just as prolific of a player who is more humble and is openly comitted to playing with the Bulls for many years while being younger to boot.  Lebron is an amazing player and argueably the best in the league, but Rose is Chicago’s guy and with LBJ in Chicago then Luol Deng is coming off the bench and C.J. Watson is our starting PG.  I wouldn’t be ok with that trade at all.

I would take Lebron.  Rose is a great scorer, leader, and a clutch finisher.  He also is younger than Lebron and more humble.  Lebron is much more versatile.  Lebron is a great scorer, has better vision, and is a better defender.  Lebron can guard any position on the floor.  While Rose may be more clutch and a more humble leader, Lebron is the overall better player.  And nothing’s wrong with being a little arrogant.  Look at Kobe, hell look at Jordan who is one of the biggest trash talkers in the history of the NBA.  The best players usually are cocky and a bit arrogant.  Basketball is about confidence, thinking you’re the best, and letting everyone know about it.  Out of the 10 best players in the NBA only d-rose and durant would be considered humble people.  You can’t go wrong with either guy, but I’d choose LeBron because of his overall game and versatility.  You can hate Lebron (and for good reason) and you can love the hometown kid D Rose, but its hard to deny LeBron as a better overall player

Relationships are great and I understand why Chicago fans love derrick rose.  However, the NBA is about winning not about being best friends.  I think every single GM in the league would trade any one player for LeBron straight up.  He has hands down proved he is the best player in the league.  I know Rose will win the MVP this year but there is no way his stats are even compareable to Lebron
