Lotto StudParticipantIt has just been said on ESPN that if the Lockout does take place it will be a lot worse then the NFL Lockout. It was also said that guys around the league will have to live check to check, but when it comes to the rookies they will not have that luxury, because they are not able to sign deals. Last year around this time quite a few rookies had inked endorsement deals which they could fall back on if they were in this situation. So far it has not been said that any NBA prospect has inked an endorsement deal.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantCan’t the players in the draft just go play in Europe? Since they won’t be under contract, they can go for a year and Europe and come back when the lockout is over. Is that possible?

Johnny ChillThe players that get draft in the 1st round will not go to Europe to play, because they can risk injury.

Lotto StudParticipantGood question, but I don’t think it is possible especially with contract negotians due to the fact there still may be a season.

aamir543ParticipantI think you are right, TOL23. Dirk continued to play in Germany while the lockout was taking place, but I dont know whether some players would wnat to adapt to a foreign country for hopfully just a couple months. With that said, I have heard some college grads would not mind trying to obtain 8-5 day jobs. I really hope no one gets hurt during the lockout, expecially rookies, because it would be really sad to see somthing like happen

Lotto StudParticipantI would like to know why endorsement deals haven’t came into play yet.

Johnny ChillYou dont see NFL players playing in Areana league.
The best thing for the players to do, is to continue to workout, pratice with teammates, and get some pickup games going.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantBecause the AFL is completely horrible. Europe is actually a viable option in basketball because their leagues aren’t as bad as the AFL is.

apb540ParticipantWhy would rookies not want to play in Europe but instead play in pick up games here? Plenty of athletes get hurt in pick up games of basketball every year. Either go to Europe or get an endorsment. Or get a real job. The rest of us do.
