PapoParticipantIf Blake Griffin doesn’t make it to the All-Star Game it’s something seriously wrong with the All-Star selection process… I know fans vote the starters, but if the Coaches overlook what he’s doing that’s trash. Plain and simple! I hope the Clipshow record doesn’t stop him from getting his just due. He’s playing better than every other 4 in the leaugue other Dirk and Amare…

RUDEBOY_ParticipantYeah, sometimes coaches naming the reserves overlook or diss a rookie thats playing well ..In favor of a vet thats having a good year..And sometimes that vet never gets on another all star team..But sometime a center
I still cant believe Lebron & Melo werent name to the all star team as rookies….I remember Melo wondering how the HELL AK47 made it over him..lol…
But Blake shouldnt worry,he’s going to make plenty of them…

PapoParticipantYea he’s gonna make a quite a few but you shouldn’t discredit what he’s doing just because he’s a Rookie or on a bad team, because some vet is having a decent year on an OK Team…. give me 5 4’s better than him league wide not just in the in his conference…

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantKevin Love needs to make it in before Griffin does but both deserves it.

ChewyParticipanthad a few billion people from another country voting for him. I swear he could make an all star team on nationality alone.

PapoParticipantI like Love… alot, fundamentally sound, range, and by far the best rebounder in the league, but give me Griffin.

mikeyvthedonParticipantGoing from latest to earliest:
Yao Ming (starter)
Tim Duncan
Grant Hill (Lead vote getter)
Shaquille O’Neal (starter)
Dikembe Mutombo
David Robinson (think he started)
Patrick Ewing
Michael Jordan (starter)
Hakeem Olajuwon
Isiah Thomas (starter I believe)
Magic Johnson (starter)
Larry Bird
Wes Unseld
Elvin Hayes
At this point, here, http://www.allstarnba.es/players/all-star-game-rookies.htm Yao was the last one to make it. Rookies used to have much more of an impact in their first year, as most were usually at least 22 or so. No one who was either straight out of HS or was a one and done has ever made the ASG in their rookie year. Magic and Isiah only played two years of college ball, and I know Shaq was also quite young (I believe he was still only 20 as a rookie in the ASG). I for one would not push hard at all for Wall or Griffin to be All-Stars. They have very bright futures, but both of their teams are awful and their are more deserving candidates, at least this year.

Ghost01ParticipantI agree alot of the times with the "these guys are on bad teams, thats why they look good" thought process, but Griffin to me seems like such an impact guy that even if the clips suck he is a deserving all star.
