Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantAccording to Yahoo Sports, amongst other sources, the Kings are looking to offer Isaiah Thomas, Ben McLemore, Marcus Thornton, Jason Thompson and two 1st round picks for Rajon Rondo.
Thoughts?

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI think that’s a lot to give up for a guy that’s a gamble coming off of that injury. McLemore AND the two 1st round picks? That’s tough.

3 No Biases 3ParticipantI agree. Rondo is my favorite player and Ive always thought he was undervalued, and although Id love to see him play with a big like Cousins, this rumored trade would be a hell of a risk for the kings.
If they could somehow keep McLemore then Id do it. Mclemore would be a perfect compliment to Rondo kinda like Ray Allen early on with the Celtics.
Rondo, Mac, Gay, Williams, Cousins That would be a pretty ideal, and solid, starting 5.

Sewok15ParticipantI was just going to say that myself that if they can keep McLemore this would actually be a good deal for them. McLemore would thrive playing with Rondo and you need a 2 who can space the floor if your PG can’t shoot. Ben can’t really create his own shot but he could score 15+ a game with the looks Rondo could get for him.
I like that the Kings are adding talent and attempting to become relevant again. It is hard to compete in the West even if you have a lottery pick every year nobody on your roster knows how to win in the NBA. If they added Rondo they would be quite an interesting team…next season.

UnbiasedObserverParticipantThe Celtics ARE NOT trading Rondo.
I REPEAT!
THE CELTICS ARE NOT TRADING RONDO!
Ainge has made it perfectly clear he is building around Rondo. The Celtics are a few pieces and a major blockbuster to acquire a star (in a deal that does not involve Rondo) away from being a championship contender

machu46ParticipantThis sounds like another way of saying they are not close at all to being contenders lol.

AmiableBaller34ParticipantI really don’t like this, even if it is just a fantasy trade. McLemore is a decent prospect, but having to pay Jason Thompson MLE type money for the next 3 years, and Thorton 8 mil next year just doesn’t seem like a good move for the Celtics who are already giving that type of money to Wallace and Lee. To be honest the player I like the most in the trade is Isaiah; I just love his heart; but I don’t think he and McLemore would be enough to snag an all-star level point guard.
The Celtics have 9 first round picks in the next 5 years, so I think they will just wait and see what happens. I think the Celtics want to wait and see how Rondo plays first before they trade him anyways. If he comes back they could make a playoff run, and still add some decent talent from the draft with the Hawks/their own pick.
The Celtics are in a very good position right now, and I would hate to see them blow it on these low-level trade rumors that have been circulating lately.

TyroberParticipantCeltics need to take this. McLemore and 2 1st rounders? That is a ton of value for Rondo.

MUbballfanParticipantEspecially considering where the Kings always pick in the draft.. The top of the lottery usually.

Meditated StatesParticipantKeep your all star playmaker and add on that. Ainge had no top picks to get KG. He developed mid to late round picks Gerald Green, Perkins, Jefferson and shopped them. Thats how they won a title. Tanking and praying for Lebron sets you back years. The mediocre for ever saying is bs so dont believe it. Develop talent and shop it to add to your best players.

Sharp ShooterParticipantI understand the kings want to win now but they need to chill on the excessive trades and wait for the 2014 draft…

LipstickParticipantThose two first round picks would have to be wayyy down the road since the Kings owe theirs to Cleveland, protected until 2018.

tbennett76Participanttrade. So the Kings might do it. Rondo would not get more than a prospect and a first rounder from me until he proves his health.
