Tyreke JohnsonParticipantDid I tell you guys or did I tell you guys, Artest plays better at home and feeds off the crowd. Everyone was willing to dimiss his skill due to Game 5 and say Ariza was the better player, though I agree he is the better player, he is not the defensive guy Artest is and Artest has helped the Lakers out a lot this year.
I am not trying to rub it in everyone’s face I am just saying Artest is a good basketball player and has just struggled recently. Anyway what is everyone’s thoughts right now on the game so far?

IndianaBasketballParticipantI don’t think Ariza is better than Artest, BUT… I do think he played his role better with the Lakers. Artest is used to being a star and getting the shots he wants. He’s had to sacrifice his game to play in the triangle. I think he’s struggled somewhat being the 4th or 5th option and understanding the “right” shots to take.
Defensively… I think Artest is better. Ariza is more athletic and has quicker foot speed, but Artest is stronger, bigger, more physical and has a higher defensive IQ.
I like the way Artest has bounced back this game. He’s playing aggressive and has made some shots, which has helped his confidence. I think he needs to focus on stopping Pierce in the 2nd half though.

Tyreke JohnsonParticipantYea exactly I am just really glad Lakers have been playing so aggressively and with high energy, they have the bench contributing nicely, the starters have all contributing well besides Fisher and they are great defensively. I am worried about Bynum tweaking his ankle though, he needs to play consistent minutes and produce in Game 7 if there is one ( do not want to be premature in Lakers win right now, you never now but I pray Lakers keep this lead)

IndianaBasketballParticipantThe bench played well. Vujacic had 8 points in 9 minutes. Farmar and Brown both had great dunks and played with energy. Odom didn’t shoot well, but played with energy and aggressiveness.
Lakers won the energy battle tonight. Leading the rebounding battle 52 to 38.
After last game, there were users saying the physicality was getting to Gasol. He responded by almost getting a triple double. 17 points, 13 rebounds, 9 assists and 3 blocks.
Hyped up for a game seven. I hope Kendrick Perkins is healthy enough to play.

sheltwon3ParticipantAriza had more time to learn the triangle and Ariza started out a role player and Artest is not a role player yet he is playing his role pretty well this year and next year, he should be better. They sky is the limit. Hopefully next year Lakers have a better bench.
