R-Dot-13ParticipantWith Yao hurt, who will start at C for the Rockets ?
Will it be David Andersen? or maybe Dorsey?0 - Posted on: Fri, 08/21/2009 - 9:11am #204123

Toronto16ParticipantWhat about Pops Mensa-Bonsu?

BasketballGuru24ParticipantI think Dorsey will be great but not just yet.

RickyRubio9ParticipantDavid Andersen. Sure Dorsey filled it up in the Summer League, but he is still undersized and with no other big men. It Andersen, hopefully he shows he deserves it in Training Camp and Preseason. Pops wouldn’t be bad, but can he handle those kind of minutes. I’d think he is better suited for an off the bench player. In time I think Dorsey can show us he is a solid backup and perhaps take over if Andersen struggles, he can make up for his height using his strength. I hope…

DeAndreParticipantAndersen will be the starting center for the rockets,
@churchboy1 mensah bonsu is a forward0 - Posted on: Fri, 08/21/2009 - 9:36am #204135

gatorheelsParticipantSo what is the deal with McGrady? Is he going to be ready for the season opener or is he going to miss the first 20 games or so? I’ve heard rumblings of both. If McGrady can play a full season then I think the Rockets are a playoff team. Losing Yao hurts but they still have enough pieces to stay competitive. I agree with the majority here…Anderson will start at Center at least at first. We will see if he does a good job.

DeAndreParticipantMcGrady might miss the 1st month of the season

RickyRubio9ParticipantI’ve heard stuff from being ready by training camp to being ready by the season to being ready 20 games in. I’m not sure, but McGrady has said he’ll be ready for Training Camp. I’ll take his word

JoeWolf1Joey Dorsey is a rebounding machine with good bulk and strength, but he’s only 6’9” and would be a much better power forward. David Andersen is a pretty decent 7 footer with a lot of International experience. I think he’ll get the start for sure, The Yao injury was a bad blow for Houston, but i like this signing for them, Andersen is no Yao, but he will help lessen the blow

R-Dot-13ParticipantWhat kind of numbers do you think Andersen can put up this year?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 08/21/2009 - 10:16am #204152

RickyRubio9Participant10 and 8. Maybe better if McGrady can help create some oppurtunties. He was putting up good numbers in Euro in limited minutes

the barronParticipantI’ve seen David Andersen play for Australia in international competition before and he has the ability to make an impact this year. Kinda reminds me of Scola, a rookie in the NBA with tons of international experience. Should stick around the league for a couple of years if he plays to his potential.

JoeWolf1I bet he is a 12 and 7 guy this year, I watched him in the Olympics too, he’s pretty mobile too.
nba.com has Dorsey listed at 6’9” 265

blazer_fan_foreverParticipantIs more like 6,7-6,8 than 6,9…

PG – Brooks
SG – McGrady
SF – Ariza
PF – Landry
C – Scola0 - Posted on: Fri, 08/21/2009 - 12:51pm #204248
juves4783Participanti was thinking the other day if the rockets could pull off a deal for eddy curry. he is still young and was a double digit scorer. obviously, the knicks really don’t have much interest in keeping him since he doesn’t really fit in d’antoni’s system. the only trade i could figure out was curry and hughes for mcgrady. any thoughts?

gatorheelsParticipantjuves- the Knicks would LOVE to do that trade.
