BogDon_KryptParticipantThis team looked good tonight. I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about them. They’ve won 4 in a row, 8 of 10, and are really starting to jive. The west better watch out for this team in the playoffs. As of now, they’d play GS in the first, who I think they can beat, and SA in the 2nd, which could be the battle of Texas and go 7. This team will be fun to watch in the playoffs. Guess Dwight isn’t as terrible as everyone thought.

clutch in spaceParticipantThey can beat anyone in the regular season as long as they take care of the ball. Now I don’t know how their offense will be in the playoffs when teams start to play more intense on defense. Hopefully they don’t live and die by the 3 ball.

omphalosParticipantThey looked really good tonight against the Pacers, but Indiana was their own worst enemy early, constantly settling for mid-range jumpers and not attacking the rim.
George really needs to learn to be more decisive, he’s a bit too fancy with it, if he just attacked the rim and made quick decisions on scoring he’d be a lot better off.
The Rockets look like a scary team to face in the playoffs, I seriously think if you swapped Miami and the Thunder into the different conferences that Miami wouldn’t make the Finals.
It’s a shame only one team in the West will get a crack at the Heat, but the fight for that opportunity is going to be vicious.

tblazer_NZParticipantA three game skid by the pacers and you are giving the East to the heat. Wow considering the Heat have lost 2 in a row.

TRC1991ParticipantThe Pacers don’t have a legitimate 2nd scoring option. That is the problem.
Houston and LA Clippers are looking mighty dangerous

TyroberParticipantThe Rockets, Spurs, Thunder, Clippers, HEAT, and Pacers are all legit contenders this year. The West is all going to depend on match ups this year. I cannot wait to watch the playoffs this year.

Jester87ParticipantI’m not buying the Rockets as contenders yet. I’m still skeptical, their defense has been a shade over average, but it might grow if they start playing more Asik and Howard together in they playoffs as someone suggested (though it might give them problems on offense and on defense too, against small lineups). But what concerns me is their bench, especially on offense, they’ve been pretty bad, one of the worst in the league. Their bench units lack an offensive leader, Lin started very well the season, but he has faded and he got worse each and every month. I don’t trust them, and it’s not about the 3 point thing.
I agree on the others all being in the conversation and match ups being such a huge thing. While teams like the Rockets (but also Golden State, Portland or the Mavs) might not be ready to win 4 tough series they can still battle and win against anyone in a single round, so if any of the other 3 teams manage to find a relatively easier path and get some extra rest in their run, that’s going to be a huge advantage over a team that has to deal with two or more 6-7 games series.
