bobbygillerSources are reporting that Purdue star Robbie Hummel has re-torn his right ACL and will miss the upcoming season. This is a devastating blow to a very talented Purdue team that had a legitimate shot at claiming a National Championship this year.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantThis is rough. Hope he takes the redshirt and rebounds from it.

JoeWolf1I just saw that, thats a shame. I think his career is over, he is young though so his chance of recovery is better, but as far as an NBA prospect I don’t think he’s gonna get any looks in 2012 and have to try his go as a free agent. Thats a shame.

Mr. 19134ParticipantCrap…
He was one of my sleepers this year to break into the national spotlight in what could be a lockout imposed weak draft…And I loved the potential of that Purdue team really thought they could go far with him.
On the only bright side this gives Moore and Johnson the chance to step up big time so lets see what they can do.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI don’t know him on a personal level, but I’ve been watching Robbie play since he was in middle school and I hate to hear this.

sayounhParticipantI don’t know him personally either but I’ve had classes with him and he’s actually a pretty smart kid majoring in a degree that is worthwhile(Accounting) so even if he can’t make it to the NBA or play professionally at all he’ll be fine.
But yea, terribly unfortunate news.
